ARTISTIC DIRECTORS
Keith Robinson
Maureen Lynch
Keith Robinson – Keith grew up in the Denver, Colorado area and
attended Boston University and the University of Colorado. He began
his dance career with Polly L. Thomas and was a founding member of
the Robinson Ballet under the direction of Ralph Robinson. Keith
trained with Madam Nora Kiss in Paris, Frances and with Leonidas
De Pian in Athens, Greece. Keith and his wife Maureen have danced
professionally in Europe with the Ballet Classique De Paris, a touring
company based in Paris, France and the Athens Ballet Theater in
Athens, Greece. Keith has choreographed numerous works for the
Robinson Ballet as well as for several other community-based arts
organizations. He has performed as an actor with the Belfast Maskers,
New Surry Theatre, Penobscot Theatre Company, and Ten Bucks
Theatre. Keith presently teaches ballet at the University of Maine at
Orono, Belfast Dance Studio, and the School of Robinson Ballet.
Keith is most proud of his son, Ian, who is presently dancing in Israel
with Batsheva Dance Company.
Maureen (Lynch) Robinson – Maureen is originally from
southern Maine. As a young girl, she danced with Polly L Thomas and
her Maine State Ballet Company. She was one of the founding
members of the Ralph Robinson Concert Dance Company which now
bears the name of Robinson Ballet. In 1980 Maureen traveled to
Europe with her husband, Keith Robinson, where they danced
professionally with the “Ballet Classique de Paris” in France and
“Balletto Athenon” in Athens Greece. Upon returning to the States in
1984, they rejoined the Robinson Ballet and began their extensive
teaching careers. Maureen works as an Artistic Director for the
Robinson Ballet as well as an instructor and choreographer. She is the
general director for The School of the Robinson Ballet. She also
teaches dance programs in three public schools; the Suzanne Smith
School in Levant and the Dedham School in Dedham, both of which
are run and funded by Community Health and Counseling Services,
and at the Airline School in Aurora, which is run and funded by the
school. As well, she teaches a dance class once a week for the clients of
Amicus’s Penobscot Valley Industries and Ralph Leek Elders
programs. Maureen has worked for many years as the choreographer
for the New Surry Theatre’s musical productions. She has also
choreographed several productions for George Stevens Academy in
Blue Hill. Maureen is very active in Robinson Ballet’s outreach
programs, helping to provide workshops, lecture demonstrations and
dance performances for school age children.
Stevie Dunham (Executive Director) - Stevie is a faculty member,
Contributing Artist and Executive Director with the Robinson Ballet
performing in The Nutcracker as the Sugar Plum Fairy, a six week long
tour including live performances with the Bangor Symphony
Orchestra. She also performs and presents choreography in RBC Live,
and the Brick Church Series, an evening of the company's reperotire.
She graduated with a BFA in dance and choreography from Virginia
Commonwealth University where she studied with Gerri Houlihan,
Robert Battle, Melanie Richards, Scott Putman, Arnott Mader among
others.
She has completed the National Dance Institute Teaching
Artist Training program in New York City and currently works with
Community Health and Counseling in the ACHEVE program
teaching dance in local schools aimed at fostering self esteem and
confidence in third and fourth grade students.
Workshop Instructors will include Artistic Directors,
instructors from the School of Robinson Ballet and other
professional artists.

Summer Workshop is a one week intensive open
to older and more experienced dancers. Dancers
will be exposed to many styles of dance including
ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, choreography,
African and dance improvisation giving the
serious dance student opportunities to try new
techniques and to learn from experienced dance
professionals. Students who have studied on
pointe for one year or longer are encouraged to
bring Pointe Shoes.
There will be an informal workshop performance
on Friday, June 27th from 4:00 - 4:30 at the
School of Robinson Ballet studio for parents and
friends.
Room and Board Option
$130 housing fee
(Registration deadline May 30)
Dancers are housed at Eastern Maine
Community College Dormitories and are fully
chaperoned by dance instructors/parents.
Transportation is provided to the studios. All
meals included. Dancers should bring spending
money for night time activities such as shopping,
movies, swimming etc.
