Team Point Winners for last week:
Asland
Parents’ Evening
Thank you to everyone who attended Parents’ Evening – 99% of the children were represented during the
two evenings (and one or two extra meetings on other nights).
School Lunches
Hopefully in your child’s book bag towards the end of last term you received a copy of the New Lancashire
Lunch Menu for the Summer term. Next week (the week beginning 1st May) is week 3 of the cycle. The
menu will remain unchanged for this week.
Changes to Packed Lunches
Don’t forget that we are now asking the children who have a packed lunch from home to return all their

Did you know…
According to some websites - The spring bank holiday on the first Monday in May was created in 1978;
May Day itself – May 1 – is not a public holiday in England (unless it falls on a Monday).
In February 2011, the UK Parliament was reported to be considering scrapping the bank holiday associated
with May Day, replacing it with a bank holiday in October, possibly coinciding with Trafalgar
Day (celebrated on October 21), to create a "United Kingdom Day."
