FATHER’S OFFICE is a prohibition themed speakeasy bar that has won multiple awards for
theme and presentation, including the AHA ‘Best Theme Bar’ Award in 2013 and 2014 and the
Victorian ‘Favourite Bistro/Pub Food’ in the 2014 Foxtel I Love Food Awards.
Centrally located, in Melbourne’s QV complex, Father’s Office prides itself on authenticity, and
features a charming art deco interior, with vintage pieces and reconditioned 1920′s fireplaces
lining the walls as well as a beautiful wrap around balcony area, showcasing Melbourne’s
historic Swanston & Little Lonsdale Streets.

THE SHAW DAVEY SLUM, a play on words. The name is an oxymoron and a celebration of
Carlton’s diverse history of a great era of Australian Culture. “The Slum”, as it has been termed,
is unique in style, presentation and represents great value for money.
In its first 6 months of being open, The Slum recieved finalist nominations for AHA’s
‘Best Theme Bar’ and ‘Best Bar Service and Presentation’ 2014 award categories.
The “Slum” has a retractable rooftop; 36 gold plated cricket stump beer taps; hand made
concrete bar top embedded with 24-carat gold and silver leaf on the ground floor and
seashells on the top floor. The full service dining room focuses on unique Australiana flavours,
styled with traditional Australian bush spices.

Our newest venue, The Bank on Collins, was opened on the 15th October 2015 and is
perfect for corporate gatherings, engagement parties and weddings. The floor plan is versatile
enough to accommodate any style of event, catering for close to 700 people across both
levels. This is a spectacular building and we are thrilled to have brought it back to life and
restored its former glory. Detailed features include a 17-meter brass bar top, 24 copper beer
taps, 3 gold wine taps, 120pax seater restaurant, a private dining room to cater for 20-30
people, private cocktail area, 2nd champagne bar on the mezzanine level and ornate detailing
throughout.

ABOUT FATHER’S OFFICE
If you take a turn down Little Lonsdale St, you will find a set of doors that
invite you into a hidden bar, filled with old world glamour and decadence.
Father’s Office is based on prohibition Americana in the 1920s, when the
consumption of alcohol was disallowed. Speakeasy’s became the place to be
and underground bootleg liquor (and the debauchery that follows) thrived.
We aim to give an authentic early-century Americana experience, with
meticulous care paid to the small details. From our menu, to our decor, to our
staff, we can ensure you’ll never have an experience quite like the Father’s
Office experience.

Asian Beer Cafe aims to take you on a new and exciting experience every
time you enter through the doors. It’s all about the mix of authenticity and
contemporary decor, with an emphasis on the details.
The atmosphere is honest and modern, and the furniture is simple and rich
with tradition. All interior pieces are in a worn Asian style and feature 70 year
old recycled materials, including the ironwood from an old cargo ship that was
sunk by pirates off the coast of Indonesia.
You will discover traditional East Asian flavours in our cuisine – we prepare
our dishes with the freshest ingredients, with an Asian Beer Cafe twist.
Our balcony space is a Melbourne icon, featuring spectacular views over
Swanston St and of Melbourne’s State Library – truly one of a kind.

For smaller and more casual functions we offer pre paid tables in our
Chairman’s Lounge, in increments of six ($300) or eight ($400) guests. Your
entire pre payment is allotted to a tab, which you are able to spend during
your stay with us on any of our food or drink options.
Ronin’s Chamber is the perfect area for corporate lunches, hens/bucks nights
and intimate birthday functions. The area is closed off to the public for
privacy during functions.

GET LOST IN THE SLUM
The Shaw Davey Slum is a celebration of Carlton’s diverse history and a great
era for Australian culture. Situated in an old iconic building just off Lygon St,
Carlton, we’ve brought to life an exciting 1960s themed bar with a unique
Australiana feel.

Upstairs at The Slum you will find this exclusive area which showcases the
brilliance of the 1960s with an homage to the great pop art of Andy Warhol,
an icon of the time.
Celebrate in style in this room that contains room for seated or standing
functions with room to personalise the space.
The name is based around a poverty report written in 1958 by two
commissioners named Shaw and Davey about Carlton and the surrounding
areas. Known as the windscreen survey (because they didn’t get out of their
cars), the report recommended demolishing large areas of Carlton, known as
the “slums”. The name is an oxymoron and a celebration of Carlton’s diverse
history during a great era of Australian culture.

Our upstairs standing area features high tables with wind up vintage stools
and Chesterfield couches, perfect for a gathering with friends at the end of
the working week.
On a raised platform in the upstairs bar you will find the DJ area and dance
floor. Completed with a mirrored ceiling and our outstanding pineapple wall,
the room is furnished with 30 cosy ottomans for a small function.
With easy access to the bar and an intimate space, it is a great place for a
casual drink or a celebration with a smaller group.
We have complimentary DJs playing upstairs on a rotational basis. However

THE BANK!
These days, Melbourne is considered the world’s most livable cities, but back
in the 1850’s gold rush, it was the worlds richest city, and people thought the
streets were paved with gold.
At the turn of the last century, 394 Collin St (corner Queen St) was home
to “The Bank of Australiasia”. Built in 1838 from New Zealand Omaru stone,
with ornate metal balustrades, this opulent site is listed with the Australian
Heritage Commission and the National Trust of Australia as a heritage site.
This beautiful & ornate building played an integral part in Melbourne’s
economy during the Gold Rush and the great depression, making this space a
true Melbourne icon.
It’s one of the few surviving buildings that was not lost to the wrecker’s ball
during Collins Streets redevelopment during the 50’s. Up until 1974 it was a
bank. In the 1990’s, it was ‘Sebel Of Melbourne’, Accor’s premier hotel brand
before the days of Sofitel. Now, the upstairs of the building primarily hosts
the “Treasury on Collins” accommodation facilities.
The Bank on Collins was opened on the 15th October 2015 and is perfect
for corporate gatherings, engagement parties and weddings. The floor plan
is versatile enough to accommodate any style of event, catering for close
to 700 people across both levels. This is a spectacular building and we are
thrilled to have brought it back to life and restored its former glory.
Detailed features include a 17-meter brass bar top, 24 copper beer taps, 3
gold wine taps, 120pax seater restaurant, a private dining room to cater
for 20-30 people, private cocktail area, 2nd champagne bar on the mezzanine
level and ornate detailing throughout.
“The Bank on Collins” brings affordable luxury to the precinct and is in
keeping with what we do best at. The concept sits above our award winning
“Father’s Office” concept in terms of style, sophistication & menu offering

They come in a range of colours, flavours and sizes so that you can personalize

Pre-purchase our $5* & $6* happy hour drink vouchers to give out to
your guests on the night! This allows you to control who uses your tab
or to ensure that everyone gets the same number of drinks.
These vouchers entitle you to $5* & $6* happy hour prices outside
of our regular happy hour times. Minimum purchase order of $500
applies.
Please note that we require seven days notice for the purchase of these drink
vouchers. No exclusive area needs to be booked to redeem them.
