Headteacher’s news
Thank you for all your
bottle tops-we now have
hundreds!
I
plan
to
complete this design with
the children over this term.
Please
send
in
any
remaining tops you have
already put aside for us on
Monday.
We received lovely feedback from the
library after our Nursery and Reception
children visited last week. I always feel
so proud of our children and staff.
Parent Council Latest
Our penultimate meeting of this
academic year is coming up. We are
hoping to collate anything worth
celebrating from this year from all
members of our school community. No
memory from the year is too small to
share!
These, along with any other suggested
agenda items for our next meeting,
need to be with your parent council rep
by Tuesday 3rd May.
Thank you for returning your
questionnaires. We will get the results to
you as soon as possible.

Y6: Synonym and Antonym
Two words are synonyms if they
have the same meaning, or similar
meanings.
Examples:
·
talk = speak
·
old = elderly
·
child = kid
·
terrible = atrocious
Alert!! The opposite of a synonym is
an antonym.
Our New Library
The main building works starting on our
new school library begin this weekend! We
look forward to this space becoming a
central part of our school day and an
inspirational learning space for the children.
The design includes bespoke shelving, a
built in flat screen and some unique artistic
designs such as a large mural. Along with
new carpet, blinds and seating, we will
have opportunities for individuals, small
groups and whole classes to enjoy countless
hours lost in lands far far away…

Clubs
Take a look at our website for a list
of the after school clubs running
this term.
On Wednesday, teams from Y4 and
Y6 took part in a Key Steps
Gymnastics competition at
Glenthorne High School. They had to
complete various floor routines and
vaults. Our teams showed some
great improvements from earlier,
preliminary competitions and clearly
enjoyed what was quite a demanding
event. Well done to Matthew,
Freddie, Sean, Emily and Lily from
Y4 and Esme, Charlotte, Olivia,
Trinity, William M. and Jacob form
Y6. A special “Congratulations” to
Lily who finished third overall in the
Y4 competition.
Chess Club with teacher Wendy
Bradley, will return to Nonsuch on
the 29th April. Wendy has many
years’ experience teaching chess
and we are pleased to have the club
back!
Cricket Club for Year 5 and Year 6
will begin next Tuesday 26th April.
The booking form will be sent out
via Parentmail today.
