Dear Parents,
Your child has been assigned summer projects
for Islamic Studies and Arabic (Reading). These
projects will help your child stay busy with
something that will benefit him/her during
Ramadan. Please encourage your child to
complete both projects and return them back by 08/17/2014.
We will select the best Islamic Studies & the best Arabic project per class.
The student with the best project in class will get a BIG prize!!
Project Details:
We have suggested several topics for each project. Students must choose 1 topic
for Islamic Studies and 1 topic for Arabic.
Project Checklist:
The winning project must:
 be a Poster Board, or a Model
 be neat and clean
 be easy to understand
 have a clear title
 have the student name and grade level on the bottom right
corner of the poster/model
 have pictures/art clips for clarification if needed
The student must:
 be ready to present his/her project
 turn the project in by the deadline

Islamic Studies
Please choose one of the following ideas for your Islamic Studies project:
1- I Know How to Make Wudu
Have your child demonstrate how to make wudu. Take pictures of your child demonstrating each
step. The following steps must be included:
1. Making Niyyah (intention) and saying Bismillah
2. Washing your hands
3. Washing your mouth
4. Washing your nose
5. Washing your face
6. Washing your right arm
7. Washing your left arm
8. Washing your head
9. Washing your ears
10. Washing your right foot
11. Washing your left foot
You can take these photos with a camera or cell phone then print them (in Color) at home or at any
store (Wal-mart or Wal-greens). Paste the pictures in order on a large poster board (22”x28”). Have
your child write how many times each step must be repeated (i.e. Wash your hands 3 times).
2- I Know How to Pray
Have your child demonstrate the steps to pray. Take pictures of your child demonstrating each step.
The following steps must be included:
1. Making Niyyah (intention

3. Reading surat al-faitha
4. Making Ruku’
5. Standing from Ruku’
6. Making Sujood
7. Making the Tahyat
8. Ending the prayers with as-salaam
You can take these photos with a camera or cell phone then print them (in Color) at home or at any
store (Wal-mart or Wal-greens). Paste the pictures in order on a large poster board (22”x28”). Have
your child write down (describe) each step.
3- The Year of Elephant
Muslims love and respect Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) very much. Allah (SWT) sent prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) to us so he can teach us how to be good. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born
in a year called The Year of Elephant.
Make a poster about the story of the Year of Elephant.
