“River Country Has Talent” Rules and Release
Amateur Vocal Competition
By participating, contestants agree to be bound by the following rules and guidelines:
There will be one category for the 2016 St. Joseph County Grange Fair “River Country
Has Talent” competition.
The contestant must be at least eighteen (18) years or older.
Contestant shall not be under contract with a talent agent or record label. This includes
as an individual or as part of a performing group. The contestant shall not have any
professional experience.
Three (3) contestants will be selected from each participating festival or event which will qualify them for the semi final
rounds at the St. Joseph County Grange Fair.
Contestants must provide their own music via cd to be used for their song.
Each entry may consist of only one person.
Contestants must be available the evenings of Sept. 18, 19, 20, and 21 for the elimination rounds performing on the
Free Stage. Anyone qualifying for these rounds will be awarded $100 after they perform on those evenings. The
final three (3) qualifiers from the elimination rounds will open for the contracted band on the stage in front of the grandstand on September 22, 2016 where the winner will be awarded $1,500 and the two (2) runners up will each receive
$500.
Date and time of performance at the Fair is scheduled by the entertainment committee.
The fair and its judges reserve the right to disqualify any individual from any qualifying round or finals for any reason
deemed necessary.
Please refrain from wearing any inappropriate clothing items as there will be young guests watching the show(s). Inappropriate lyrics will not be permitted. No acts allowed that may be harmful to yourself or others; please keep your
talent to a G Rating.
Rules may be changed or modified at any time.
Contestants and their families are not allowed to have contact with judges prior to or during competition.
Judges decisions will be, without question, FINAL.
Entry deadline as stated on application will be adhered too. NO EXCEPTIONS.
All contestants give the St. Joseph County Grange Fair the unrestricted authorization to use their name, photo, voice
recordings, video recordings, entry materials or likeness in promotional materials without further compensation.
Contestants must supply fair with contact information. i.e. phone number, e-mail, mailing address and such.
Contestants must be willing to be interviewed by media sources.
Contestants will be responsible for any and all taxes that may be incurred for prizes won.
All contestants and their families release the St. Joseph County Grange Fair from any liability resulting from their performance and attendance at this event.
