June 13-17, 2016
Our Pre-K Graduation Ceremony will take
place on Friday, July 22, 2016 at
4:00pm-6:00pm in the Sanctuary.
Please arrive early to find a seat.
The ceremony will be followed by a farewell
BBQ in the Courtyard.
All family and friends are welcome to join us
for this wonderful celebration.
Wesley Kids and First UMC will be
having an Art Exhibit on Wednesday June 15,
2016 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. All Wesley Kids
families are invited. There will be
refreshments served while you browse the
lovely art work.
The artist behind the captivating art work is
Sharon Higgins, she will be available for any
questions you might have about her lovely art
work.
Sharon has been painting professionally for over 50 years.
She is a realist painter and is best known for her western and
landscape exhibits, although in this exhibit we show some of
her other work from her travels to Italy, France, Mexico,
and the UK . Sharon has painted the large mural in the
Parlor, Noah’s ark up the stairwell, and painted at the top of
Sandia Peak. She has been a member of First UMC for
over 40 years now.
All art work is up for sale.

On Friday, June 17, 2016, each
classroom will either be
having special treats or
conducting a fun Father’s
Day activity for our daddies,
uncles, grandpas, or any other special
person.
Below you can see a couple of Sharon’s paintings that will be
in the exhibit.

Milky Way
Theme of the Week: Father’s Day
This week our theme is “Father’s Day”.
Last week the babies started working
hard on their Father’s Day gift.
During story time we are enjoying the
book “Just Like Daddy”. We are also
asking the parents to please send us a
little note about something special they
love about their child. We would like to
share these notes during circle time by
reading them to the babies.
Our word of the week is daddy or papa
in Spanish.
In music we are listening and singing to
the songs “I Love My DADDY” and
adding different people we love into the
song.

We are discussing what makes their father’s special and unique in
order to help them fill out their Father Day information sheet about
their dads.
On Wednesday, June 15th we are going to Duke City Paint & Pin to
paint a special canvas for their dads.
The children are also making special arts and crafts for their
father’s throughout the week. They are making a
special father’s day card.
We had an awesome time on our fieldtrip to Explora.
The children really enjoyed having lunch at the park.
On Friday, June 17th we are inviting all dads, grandpa’s, uncles,
or others to come in the morning and join us for a special treat to
celebrate Father’s Day.
