General Auction Rules
1. Use only the bid number assigned to you. You
are responsible for any bids made with your
number.
2. Payment for any item may be made immediately for the purchase of that item. Payment
may be made with cash, check, Mastercard or
Visa. Payment in full the evening of B.O.L.T.
2017 is required. Matching gifts from your
company may be used to increase your support—but can’t be used to pay for an item. Item
must be paid in full by the purchasers the night
of B.O.L.T.
3. Items may be removed the evening of B.O.L.T.
2017 by exhibiting, at the time of departure,
the receipt marked “PAID.” Arrangements
can be made for the pickup of large items on
Sunday, April 30, between 9:00 a.m. and noon.
All auction items must be removed from Pius
premises by 12:00 noon, Sunday, April 30,
2017.
4. All sales are final. No refunds given. The
donors of all items purchased will not accept
purchased items in exchange for other items.
5. Unless otherwise specified, all auction items
and services must be used by April 29, 2018.
6. The value stated on your receipt is the donor’s
estimate. Item values are not guaranteed by
Pius X High School or the B.O.L.T. Auction
Committee. 7. For federal income tax purposes, the deductible amount of your contribution is limited
to the amount contributed in excess of the
estimated value of the goods and services.

Live Auction Rules
1. The live auction will begin after dinner and
continue until all items have been sold. Items
will be on display all evening.
2. Each auction item is numbered. The auctioneer
will call out the numbered item and a brief
description of the item will be given. A bidder
can accept a bid called by the auctioneer by
raising his or her hand. A runner will bring an

Each item is assigned a basic minimum bid. No
bid under the assigned minimum increase will
be accepted.
Each new bid must exceed the previous bid by
at least the minimum increase stated on the
mobile site to constitute a valid bid.
The Silent Auction tables will be open for
bidding at 6:00 p.m. and will close at 8:30 p.m.
Closing times are posted in the catalog and
will be announced during the evening. Bid
runners will be available during the dinner to
help place your bids. Please note the time of
closing, which appears at the beginning of each
category in the catalog.
The highest bidder on each item will be notified on his or her cell phone via text message.
The successful bidder will get one hard copy
of the receipt or a text from the cashier for
payment of the item. At the time of payment
the cashier will mark “PAID” on the copy
presented and will keep one copy. We can use
the credit card on file for your checkout, or you
can save Pius the credit card fees and write a
check or use cash.
All general auction rules apply to the silent
auction.
Please retain your receipt to determine the
amount of your charitable contribution, and
you are encouraged to consult your tax advisor.
Mobile bidding
Mobile Bidding is available at B.O.L.T. 2017. Mobile
or text bidding* allows for a completely paperless
bidding system. Auction bidding sheets will not be
on the display tables which eliminates overcrowding
around the auction items. Mobile Bidding will make
our event run more efficiently from registration to
check out!
electronically on all the silent auction items. You can
easily track your desired items by following your
activity from your mobile device, or by using our
tablets or the computer bidding stations that will be
available throughout the evening without having to
return to the item’s table.
Guests without phones: If you do not have a cell
phone or do not wish to use your personal phone,
no worries. We will have tablets/computer bidding
stations throughout the event location. And, we will
have volunteers ready to help you!
Can’t attend B.O.L.T. this year? If you are unable
to attend B.O.L.T. this year, you can still donate and
bid on items. The auction will be open for submitting bids one week before B.O.L.T. In order to bid
or donate, you must register on the Mobile Bidding
registration page. Your instructions on how to start
are the same as noted in “Before you arrive” (below).
You must pick up your items on the Sunday following B.O.L.T. between 9 a.m. to 12 noon or make
arrangements beforehand.

The always popular “Heads or Tails” is back!
Your purchase of bead necklaces ($20 each) during the social hour or
dinner hour allows you to play along and gives you a chance to win
$1,000 cash.
The game will begin just before the start of the live auction and will include all players wearing
their necklaces. The game will be played right at your table and only takes a few minutes. And
best of all, you could be a big winner!
RULES OF THE GAME:
•Each player predicts Heads or Tails before the coin is flipped. Players making the incorrect
prediction must remove their necklace.
•No player may wear more than 5 necklaces. For each incorrect prediction of Heads or Tails,
one necklace must be removed.
•Those remaining with a necklace make another prediction of Heads or Tails, and the coin is
flipped again.
•When you no longer have a necklace, you are eliminated from the game and must sit down.
Only those players correctly predicting the result are allowed to continue the game.
•The coin is flipped repeatedly, eliminating players until one lucky player is left standing. The
last remaining player will receive $1,000 cash.
