adventures that a pirate dog might get up to.
Dogs on board?

Things to do
What happened next?
Students take work sheet 1. They read the sentence starters
and fill in the gaps. They focus on the sequence of events in the
story and make sure that the correct order is maintained.
Wanted!
Students pretend they are the captain of another pirate ship
who has noticed how valuable Bones is. On work sheet 2, they
design a poster to advertise for a pirate dog of their own.
Old dog
Students pretend it is ten years into the future and that Bones
has retired from his job on board the pirate ship. They work
in pairs and take on the role of interviewer and Bones. The
interviewer asks questions about Bones’ life as a pirate dog.
