to Sydney where you’ll explore Sydney Harbour
aboard an historic sailing ship. After a 2-night

back to Victoria on the heritage Melbourne
Limited, featuring the stunning 42101 locomotive.
In Seymour you will change trains to the famous
Spirit of Progress, including many of the original
1937 cars. This will be a thrilling trip of more
than 2,000 kilometres, a unique and authentic
heritage rail and sail journey. All aboard!

Day five heralds the start of your
private heritage rail adventure to Melbourne. Starting at Sydney’s
Central Station, you will board the Melbourne Limited and settle
into stunningly restored 1920’s and 30’s seating and lounge cars. At
the head of your train will be the privately owned locomotive 42101
which entered service in 1965. As you roll through Sydney and the
southern highlands of NSW,
the crew will be on hand to tell
you about the train, its history,
restoration and return to heritage
service. Unlike the trains of today,
the windows open offering
both fresh air and the chance
to better take in the sights and
sounds of your surroundings. A
short stop will be made at Goulburn for you to stretch your legs.

Your 5-day adventure begins in Melbourne when you board the
gleaming Golden Princess for a deluxe 2-night cruise north to Sydney.
Enjoy fine cuisine, multiple pools,
expansive decks and fabulous
entertainment before sailing into
spectacular Sydney Harbour.
During a 2-night stay at the
elegant and historic Grace Hotel
in the heart of the city, you’ll enjoy
a relaxing harbour cruise on the
historic, 3-masted barque, James
Craig. Launched in February
1874 in Sunderland, England, see
close up just what it takes to sail one of the world’s last clippers, and
hear about how the ship was saved
from ruin, and its miraculous 30 year
restoration.
By lunchtime you will arrive at Junee where you will enjoy lunch in
the historic station restaurant.
Continue on through the ever
changing
countryside
with
another short stop at Albury for
afternoon tea. After crossing
the Murray River into Victoria,
arrive early evening in Seymour
where you will change trains.
The sight of the B74 locomotive
and its distinctive blue carriages
will herald the arrival of the ‘Spirit of Progress’. The B74, a 1952 built
Victorian Railways double ended locomotive will be hauling the
original 1937-built carriages including compartment seating cars,
‘Dining‘ car, ‘Parlor’ car, and ‘Mitta Mitta’. A light meal will be served as
you journey to the Victorian capital, with the bars and kiosks open to
purchase beverages. A mid-evening arrival at Southern Cross Station
in Melbourne is anticipated.

Sydney - Disembark Golden Princess. You will be
transferred by coach to your hotel. Rest of day at leisure.
