[email protected] https://www.facebook.com/groups/2232551917/ Page 5 Center For the Study of Addiction and Recovery The Texas Tech Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery (CSAR) offers amazing resources for students in recovery through their Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC). The CSAR is devoted to providing a supportive environment on the Texas Tech University campus to help student flourish in recovery while pursuing a college degree. Each member of the Texas Tech CRC receives between $1,000 and $4,000 in scholarships each academic year. The CRC offers weekly seminars for course credit for each member of the community. Some of the seminar topics include adventure support and recovery wellness, eating disorder recovery, chemical dependence recovery and new student recovery. The CRC also offers opportunities to attend trips each semester that have included expeditions to recovery conferences, recovery rallies, white water rafting, and academic conferences on addiction and recovery research. The CRC provides opportunities to participate in recovery service trips which have included taking students to Ghana, West Africa and Prague, Czech Republic. Each member of the CRC is also a member of the Texas Tech Association of Students About Service (ASAS). ASAS has three focus areas, Fun in Recovery, Recovery in the Homeless, Recovery Outreach and Engagement. Students wishing to apply to the Texas Tech CRC must have a year of continuous recovery during the first semester they are members. (Can be graduating in August, December, or May) Photos will be taken on Texas Tech campus at all of the major landmarks, and your school of study if you choose. Camouflage stole will be provided. (Please provide your own cap/gown/tassel, etc). Outfit changes are welcomed. Bring any props you would like to use. You will be given a disc with all of your edited images released for your use.
