Jeg har jobbet som generalsekretær i solenergiforeningen siden januar i år i en 20 % stilling. Det har vært mye å ta tak i, og årets første solgløtt har dessverre blitt noe forsinket. Litt informasjon kommer lenger ned. Solenergidagen 2008 Baxi med solfangere Norsk Solenergiforening vil i samarbeid med OREEC arrangere Solenergidagen 2008. Solenergidagen vil være del av European Solar Days. Arrangementet vil finne sted på Blindern, Oslo, Helga Engs Hus auditoriom 2, 19. mai. Programmet strekker seg fra klokken 10 til 16. Deltakelse er gratis, men påmelding vil være påkrevet grunnet matservering. Foreløpig program er lagt ut på våre hjemmesider. Baxi har hittil vært kjent for å levere utstyr til biofyring. Nå utvider det svenske selskapet sortimentet med solfangere. Rapporten nevner FoU på solceller som et av satsningsområdene. Solvarme ble dessverre knapt nevnt i rapporten, på tross av at solenergiforeningen tok kraftig til ordet for dette i høringsrunden. But what are we supposed to replace them with? Some say biofuels and others put their money on direct-production methods of generating energy. These methods are wind energy and solar energy. But which one of them is better. A study cited on EV World draws the line between soybean biodiesel, corn ethanol, wind energy and solar energy. And this is what they came up with. Soybean biodiesel provides miles per acre per year. Corn ethanol is 6 times more efficient with 18,000 miles per acre per year. Wind energy, with its 180,000 miles per acre per year provides 10 times more energy that corn. But the Sun can really get you going:it gives out 2 million miles per acre per year. That means that it’s 100 more efficient to put solar panels on an acre that install wind turbines. Or is it? It’s actually 100 times cheaper to plant corn than to put solar panels. And you must take into consideration that not all patches of land are suited to gather all forms of energy. Don’t forget that cellulosic ethanol can be produced from waste so in this case land is no longer an issue. And how long will it take to convert all cars to electricity? But we must make the best out of every region and on a long term this study may show us where to look for energy. One Road Energy System is installed in the village of Avenhorn and it stretches on 200 yards of a read, enough for powering a 70-unit four-story building.Another system is installed on an 160,000 industrial park in the city of Hoorn which is heated during winter and cooled during summer. For the first time, renewable heating and cooling will be fully integrated into EU legislation. ESTIF welcomes particularly the obligation for new and refurbished buildings, from which solar thermal will benefit. Member States are called to improve the framework for solar thermal now, without waiting for the adoption of the Directive. Jeg heter Jo Gjessing og har overtatt stillingen som generalsekretær etter Øystein Bindesbøll Holm. Noen ord om meg selv: Jeg er 27 år og bor i Oslo. Jeg holder på med doktorgrad på solcelleavdelingen på Institutt for Energiteknikk (IFE). Her ser jeg på muligheter for å fange lys i tynne solceller ved hjelp av fotoniske krystaller. Bakgrunnen for prosjektet er et ønske om å spare materialkostnader uten å redusere effektiviteten i cellene. Vi holder på å bygge opp en ny lab på IFE som vil stå ferdig til neste år. Mastergraden min ble avlagt på UiO i 2006 og dreide seg om problematikken knyttet til temperaturbeskyttelse av solfangere. Deler av dette arbeidet vil bli presentert på EUROSUN konferansen i Lisboa i år. Jeg ser fram til et begivenhetsrikt år.
