This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2013, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by May 2013. This standard specifies three types of barbed wire, conventional (C), reverse twist (RT) and barbed wire entanglement (BWE). AS+ Shop 18.06.2017 Drawings of typical conventional and reverse twist barbed wire are given for information in Annex A, Figures A.1 and A.2. 4 EN 10223-1:2012 (E) 1 Scope This European Standard specifies zinc coated and zinc alloy coated steel barbed wire, conventional and reverse twist consisting of two stranded line wires, around which the barbs are tightly wound, a twist being imparted between the barbs to restrict their movement.
