Consider this set of test score values:
Set A: 65, 70, 75, 77, 77, 80, 82, 84, 86, 89, 90, 92, 93, 95, 96
Set B: 0, 70, 75, 77, 77, 80, 82, 84, 86, 89, 90, 92, 93, 95, 96
Calculate the Mean, Median and Mode for each set.
They are identical except for the first score. Set B
shows what would happen if one of the scores was WAY
out of range. Such a term is called an outlier.
