Where to stay :
The festival campsite is available to weekend ticket holders only.
Book your camping space when you book your tickets. The camp site will
be open from 12 noon on Thursday 14th August. Check our website for
hotels, B&Bs, etc. or call the Swansea Tourist Information Office.

From Llandeilo follow A483 southbound to Ammanford, Fork left in town
centre(A474 eastbound). Pontardawe (7 miles).

miles)

The Dance Tent returns with ceilidhs, come-all-ye’s, displays,
workshops & Fest Noz - ably led by Breton/Welsh band Twm
Twp and the Valley folk Club along with many, many dance
teams and performers.
The popular New Music Stage will be serving up masses of
up and coming bands such as No Obligation, Moongazer
and Project 25.
The rest of the Uk is well represented too, with festival favourites Prego, FOS Brothers and Pressgang, ably assisted by
those inimitable Geordies Hundred Man Orchestra plus
jazzy, funky folk from the Harriet Earis Trio, sea songs and
shanties from Swansea’s Baggyrinkle, not forgetting the inimicable Graham Larkbey who will be hosting the WORST
SONG IN THE WORLD COMPETITION (get composing
now!).
The home team is led by iconic Welsh band Ar Log, stars of
our very first festival 30 years ago, alongside today’s emerging all-stars, BBC Folk Award finalists One String Loose, Tan
Bach and the 2007 Welsh Fiddle Champions. Joining the
home team we have newly written music too with Helen
Adam’s —Gwyl Nos (Festival Night)
Northern Irish Mary Kathleen Burke heads up the
singer/songwriter list along with Tania Opland & Mike Freeman from the USA (well known to Pern fans worldwide), &
Jim Fox
From China, the musical olympians that are Guo Yue and the
Silk String Quartet, are joined by the finest new trailblazers
on the Celtic/Roots scene: Berroguetto (Galicia, Spain),
Fiamma Fumana (Italy), Hotel Palindrone (Austria) and
Leg (Brittany).
On the FUJITSU MAIN STAGE, the very best in Roots Music
from around the world, including:Kila - trailblazing Irish warriors headline alongside the fabulous Transglobal Underground the 2008 BBC Radio 3 World
Music Award winners and from Africa, maestro Senegalese
griot Sekou Keita (ex-Baka Beyond) makes a welcome return
with his new project Seckou Keita SKQ.

The Festival Fringe, run in partnership with Pontardawe
Town Council & Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council,
and local organisations, has a full programme of events, including the Flower Festival at St Peter’s Church and the
Festival Procession at Saturday lunchtime which wends its
way though the village to the Festival Field – all surrounded
by the beautiful scenery of the Upper Swansea Valley.
The Food Village has its own covered area where you can
enjoy the atmosphere while sampling some of the delicacies
on offer & join in the odd session or workshop.
The Craft Market offers arts & crafts galore, healing tents,
music stalls and more.
Panic Family Circus Children’s Big Top with children’s
events/workshops by day & various events to join in or watch
by night.
The Bowls Hall Bar is welcomed back as a venue & will host
workshops plus sing-arounds & club sessions.
The famous Ponty Real Ale Bar will feature sessions, workshops and performances for anyone with an instrument.
