Ken’s Comment

Kia ora koutou. The children have done really well in coping with the rainy days at school
that have kept them off all grass and bush areas and of course limits where they can play.
Children who don’t have an opportunity to run off built up steam and energy are even worse
than teachers who don’t get coffee! Hopefully some sunshine isn’t too far away.
Senior Trip Raffles; last Friday we drew the Word Art and Coffee Table raffles.
Congratulations to Dayna Wehi who won the word art with ticket no. 3, and to John
McEntee who won the coffee table with ticket no. 91. Thank you everyone for your
tremendous support.
Hangi; the senior trip hangi is on this Saturday and will be available for pick up at 4.30p.m
outside KawaKawa Beaurepaires and the Moerewa Tyre shop. Tickets have sold really well
and are in short supply. If you are wanting tickets I suggest you phone the school office
(4040273) and we will try and coordinate some. Tickets sellers please let Ken know asap if
you have unsold tickets!
School Banking; we have a few dedicated school bankers every week which I think is
fantastic. However we have had a couple of problems with banking going missing and we are
not sure where exactly this is happening. All we can do is tighten up what happens at our
end. We have reminded the children that they must drop their banking into the lockable
bank box, and not just leave it on the office counter…or in their bags. Parents would you
please remind your children to do this too!
Year 8 day at Bay College; On Friday 24th August there is an opportunity for any of our
students who are intending to go to BOI College next year to spend the day getting an
insight into what happens. Some of our past Karetu students will meet our little angels once
they arrive and will show them around, join in classes, and generally remove some of the
scariness.
