Ecology: Soils waterlogged with basic to neutroacidic, carbonated waters; the
g r o u n d water level standing near the surface almost t h r o u g h o u t t h e year.
Distribution: Axial P y r e n e e s in t h e s u b a l p i n e belt (rare in t h e m o n t a n e or alpine
belts).
Variability: T h r e e subassociations are recognized.
