Superb Gymnasts!
Out of approximately six thousand Cumbrian children, nine hundred were chosen to enter the Key
Steps One competition. Out of those nine hundred, only six teams remained in the final at Penrith
yesterday. Representing the whole of the Furness peninsula, St George’s gained a fantastic third
place in the Cumbria School Games. It is such a great achievement by the children who have
practised so hard, as have the coaches and supportive parents. A massive ‘well done’ to all!
Red Nose Day
This raised an excellent £326, from the sale of Red Noses and biscuits. Very well done to all!
Review of School
On Monday and Tuesday you may notice two different adults around the school. They are
experienced educational consultants who are undertaking a review of the school at our request, so
we are sure your children are getting the very best education possible- no more, no less.
Book, Bath and Bed Campaign
Clearly Miss Thompson’s ideas are gaining nationwide attention! From Monday 24th April to Friday
28th April, Barrow Library are holding what is essentially a Snuggle Night from 4-4.45. It is part
of a national initiative to promote better sleep, reading and a bedtime routine for children. To
book a free place drop in or call the library on 012290407373.
PTA DISCO- THANKS
Thanks to all helpers who made the discos last night so enjoyable for our children. It is a real
highlight for the kids, so much work goes into them so we really appreciate it.

These were excellent figures! I also noticed that Little Dragon’s morning session has 100%
attendance, so well done to them.

Nursery Childcare Provision
A letter to all Nursery parents will be circulated next week giving details of access to the new 30

End of Spring Term
We finish school on Friday 7th April and return for the Summer term on Monday 24th April.
Have a lovely Easter break – hope the weather is like last weekend so that we can all get a bit of
sun. Enjoy the chocolate!
