BILL PATTERSON was born October 23, 1966. The oldest of three children, Mr. Patterson was an exceptional athlete,
excelling at golf and swimming. From early childhood, Mr. Patterson likely suffered from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder. And yet, despite this disability, he still earned his GED and found success as an independent sports
photographer. Unfortunately Mr. Patterson was severely injured when struck from behind while bike riding in the early
1990s. That accident, coupled with his mother’s death in 2007, caused severe debilitating depression for Mr. Patterson.
However, despite his suffering, he was still able to bring joy and hope into the lives of others. As Father Dan Noll said of
Mr. Patterson, “Every time I have the feeling like life is getting tough, I think of you and your example, and I receive the
strength to take up my cross again and carry on. … When I reflect on all the sacrifices you made to show in many
concrete ways your great love for your mother, it strengthens me to love my family more. … Your life helps me truly
connect with the Scriptures more than I ever would, … where the psalmist cries out for help and retains trust in God even
through years of darkness.” Mr. Patterson passed away September 29, 2014.
