skills.

READING: Comprehension questions will be set on unseen extracts from the following Nonfiction and Fiction texts:
 Information texts /Reports
 Explanation Text
 Formal/Informal letter
 Stories with familiar setting, fantasy story/ legend/mystery
 Newspaper report
 Recount
 Poems
Questions will focus on:
 Layout, presentational features and language features
 Deducing and inferring ideas ,information, meaning to answer questions with evidence
 vocabulary - meanings of words through context clues;
 Giving reasons with evidence
 Expressing likes and dislikes with examples from the text.
Grammatical awareness: Identifying and using
 Nouns, Singular and Plural Nouns,
 Verbs, powerful verbs, Verb Tenses, Perfect Form
 Adjectives, expanded noun phrases,
 Adverbs of Manner, Cause and Time, Conjunctions
 Different forms of sentences : statements, questions, exclamations , commands Synonyms,
Antonyms, Homophones, Prefixes, Suffixes
 Main Clause and Subordinate Clause
 Punctuations - speech marks, commas, full stops, capital letters question marks, exclamation
marks.
