We knew we would pay for that mild winter somehow and this is it. But really, how can you complain about an entire 12 months of t-shirt weather? We won’t see the 2013’s for a couple of months still, but if I waited until then to extend this offer then I couldn’t use the hot weather correlation. Anyway, on to the details! Would you like an extra $1500 to spend on parts, accessories, or clothing? Of course you would and we are here to help. When you buy a new, MSRP priced 2012 Dyna Switchback, Fat Boy, or Fat Boy Lo model we will give you a $1500 Denney’s gift card. Want a touring bike instead? Ok. Buy a new, MSRP priced 2012 FLHTK, FLTRU, FLHTCU, or a FLHTCUSE7 and we will give you a $1000 Denney’s gift card. Get them while they’re hot! Sorry, had to say it. Don’t want anything that big? We have Sportsters too. Not many, but a few. Buy a new 2012 Sporty and get a $500 gift card. We have 883 Irons and Lows, and 1200 Customs, Nightsters, and even a couple of the new Seventy-two’s. These offers are only good for the month of July and only on in- stock bikes. Don’t wait too long! John Burkett Sales Manager PAGE 2 HOT, HOT, HOT It’s summer, it’s hot, and the massive twin cylinder furnace sitting between your knees isn’t helping the heat factor one bit. There are a few parts & accessories that can be added to your bike to help the heat factor. For example heat deflectors, oil coolers, and full out exhaust changes. Harley Davidson has also offered a calibration for most big twins to cut out the rear cylinder’s firing while at idle; in turn helping a little more with the heat. Feel free to call up and anyone here in Service will be happy to talk to you about any of these options for your bike, along with any other service or accessory you might be interested in installing on your bike. Don’t forget about our time saving Express Lane Service which offers no appointment, first come – first serve, hour or less work. Also, although shorts are cooler than pants, whether you’re a rider or a passenger, wearing pants is a better choice for motor heat and for general riding protection. Keeping hydrated is also a key for any length road trip as well. Bring plenty of water or stop frequently to drink some water. Sean Puckett Service Advisor Be Cool Holy crap it's hot! Are you the type that stops riding when the temperature hits 100 degrees? If so…why? Did you know there are items to help you stay cool in this unbearable heat? This isn’t the first heat wave that HarleyDavidson has seen in its history! There are several solutions to this such as; hydration vests, ball caps, head wraps and chiller neck bands. These things are golden! Simply soak them in water for 5-10 min, shake off the excess water, wear while riding and enjoy the "air conditioning"! It works by evaporating the water crystals in the material as the wind passes through it. The result is a cooling sensation that lasts up to 2 hours depending on the object. DENNEY’S HARLEY-DAVIDSON This is a must have for every rider that thinks about riding in the heat of the summer! Be sure and get in here to check these items out for Hogs for Dogs! Perfect timing! On another note.............I have received another shipment of GoPro Cameras! Grab one this week so you can ride Sunday, July 8th with the hottest bike accessory! Well it looks like it is going to be another hot summer…but give it a couple more months and we will be complaining that it is too cold. But regardless of the temperature, you will not want to miss the 9th annual HOGS for DOGS ride to benefit the CARE no-kill animal shelter coming up on Sunday, July 8! It is always a good time and it is for a great cause. Panera Bread has graciously donated some bagels and coffee for the riders during registration (9:00 am to 10:00). It is $25 per rider and $10 per passenger and that donation will get you the ride, HOGS for DOGS IX collectable pin, and a fully catered lunch. At 9:45 the Greene County Officers will have a short safety meeting and at 10:00 am the ride will depart. The ride is approximately 80 miles and will have a gas stop half way through. The ride will end back at Denney’s where you can relax in the air conditioning and enjoy lunch catered by Hooters, Steak Out, Roma Foods, and Hiland Diary….no one should leave hungry. There will be a silent auction after the ride and there are some fantastic items on those tables right now. I believe I have seen some HarleyDavidson shirts, gift cards from local businesses, and Hawaiian Sun Tan gift bags. Of course there are a lot more items, but I have limited writing space. This year at the end of the silent auction we will also have a live auction. We had a wonderful member of the com- munity donate a brand new XBOX 360 with Kinect (299.99 value) and a brand new Brinkman propane grill (158.00 value)! There may be some extra items paired with the XBOX and the grill… so you may be looking at some pretty awesome packages! John Kimmons from 104.7 The Cave will be acting as our auctioneer. So get out and help support CARE, our only local no-kill animal shelter, and get ready for a great time!!
