The event starts at 1:00pm with a delicious afternoon tea. Following this, will be Peter Hawthorne and his entertaining stories of a selection of the animals who have received The Dickin Medal – also known as The Animal Victoria Cross. Whether you are an animal lover, have an interest in world conflicts and the parts that animals play or just fancy a nice afternoon out, the event is bound to appeal. Peter’s book, ‘The Animal Victoria Cross’, is available from Amazon, W H Smith and other retailers, priced £16.99. He may bring one or two copies for sale at the event. There will be a raffle and it is expected that the event will end at around 3:00pm. All proceeds raised from the event are for Age UK Solihull – supporting older people in the Solihull borough. How to get there… Hogarths Hotel entrance has a very long driveway therefore travelling by public transport may not be suitable. Travelling by car will be easier.
