Biography
Hugh Michael Tyner has been a 22 year veteran of the stage spending 12 years as an artist in Las
Vegas. He has traveled all over the world performing including a tour of 10 major cities in 6 countries
in Asia. He is best known for his impersonation of Billy Joel and is now a full time Billy Joel Tribute
artist.
A Georgia native, Hugh developed his musical skills in his adolescent years and went on to have a
successful career in music and entertainment, culminating in a 13-year run on the Las Vegas Strip.
In 1998, he and his band were hand selected by Steve Wynn to open his Bellagio Fontana’s
Showroom culminating in an 18th month contract! Soon after, many fans commented on his
resemblance to Billy Joel and his awesome skill of recreating his songs both vocally and on the piano.
Since then, Hugh Has been bringing his Almost Billy Joel Tribute show to concert venues, fairs and
festivals all over the US and Canada for over 15 years.
Save The Music In Our Schools
Hugh holds a Bachelors of Music Education and was a school teacher for a number of
years before going into full time entertainment. His passion for quality music
education in our schools has led him to partner with high school bands and choral
departments all over the US that are in need of a means to bolster their yearly
budgets. Hugh stresses, “I realize that we are going through hard times where many
arts programs are suffering from stringent budget cuts. I’m hoping by bringing our
show to their community, the concert can help generate a lot of needed revenue to
their programs very quickly! We even have arrangements where the schools choir can sing with us
on the program!”
Description
The show includes a 6 piece band of incredibly talented Atlanta professionals that authentically and
with great precision, re-creates the live sound of Billy Joel. The audience will experience a 90-120
minute journey of the life and music of the 3rd highest-selling recording artist of all time, surpassed
only by Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. Billy Joel’s popularity is just as relevant today as when he
came to fame in the 70’s as he begins a 3rd straight year of Residency at Madison Square Garden
with sold out shows every month including additional sellouts in arenas all over the world.

Thank you for your consideration of The Almost Billy Joel
Entertainment Experience. It is our hope that through our joint
efforts, your audience will walk away from the show having
been transported back to the more innocent and carefree days
of their youth. We guarantee lots of smiles and audience
participation as we celebrate the musical magic of Billy Joel!
In these economic times, we realize that entertainment has become a luxury for many and we want to do our best to
provide an experience that is affordable without sacrificing quality! This band provides a high tech audio-visual
experience, yet requires little from the buyer. We travel with our own instruments and there is no backline for you
to provide. We run all instruments internally and monitoring is done through our own in-ear wireless system. Please
consider the following:
1.
The Almost Billy Joel Experience will drive to your event if you are within a 500 mile radius of Nashville, TN. We will drive
further but please allow a $3 per mile surcharge over 500 miles. This allows us to transport our multimedia screen and
projector along with our mini-digital-grand piano for Hugh. Distances greater than 500 miles become a fly date and
require 7 roundtrip tickets (5 from BNA and 2 from ATL) and ground transportation to and from the airport.
2.
In the case of a fly date, the requirements are for a digital baby-grand/grand piano 4 ft or greater. These can be rented
and delivered from almost any reputable piano store in the country for $300-$500. We require a digital piano for tuning
and sound purposes.
3.
We prefer to use our own sound and lights… this saves YOU money and also allows us to use our computer-programmed
lighting and video backgrounds and have them be perfectly synced to each song in the show! Robo-scans… lots of
intelligent lights here to make your event a big time concert! In the case of a fly date, we can bring six of our lights to
supplement your lighting….it’s worth the effort and $250 you’ll provide to ship to and from your event.
4.
Five 3.5 - 4 Star hotel rooms for two nights… just don’t put us in a Motel 6 please…you get the drift! We like to come in
one day prior to your event for adequate preparation and Hugh is available for television or radio promotions. The last
thing you want is a tired band!!

As far as meals, the band has a per diem which is included in your initial costs. No extras! We would appreciate some
snacks, fruit plate, etc. backstage but only if it’s convenient. The only backstage requirement is a gathering room and a
case of cold water…that’s it!
6.
We need 2 - 4 ft tables in the lobby area for merchandising. We have t shirts, CD’s and other novelties available and the
band comes out to meet and greet with your audience! We’re also available for a post-event party, if you have one
scheduled.
7.
Finally, the success of your show depends on high quality sound and lighting. As mentioned earlier, we would prefer to
hire our own company…if you are hiring a company…don’t!! The company we use is very affordable and knows this
show! He’ll come anywhere in the radius for $1200. Our sound is automated regardless of the situation and we will use
our own sound console. Even in a theater, we’ll just send a stereo line to the main console…we will have to check it on
fly-dates…don’t worry it’s small… $100 check-in fee.
