Wow, what day with sure spin!!!!
We fished the ocean off shore Brookings and nailed the
Salmon, both silvers and Kings….disappointedly most
were small and we had a few silvers to throw back.
The good news is that I had time to fully run the SS
and was very pleasantly surprised.
1) We ran a three rod spread….one sure spin –
two other popular rigs…
2) The SS rod went off time and time again. At one point it was SS 6 and the others 1...
3) We then began running SS on two rods and the results were phenomenal – 2 doubles and fish on reeling in to
check baits.
4) Yes we had found the fish but why did the other gear not keep up?
5) I finally gave up the day after some 15-20 salmon but what I expected is true – in a troll fishery this is a good
product.
All baits were run on the top hole
Clear and Glow are the two colors of choice
Hole or no hole does not seem to matter (referring to the prototype center hole shown).
I thought you would like to hear about this trip so attached in one photo I got which is not so hot…
The Rogue troll fishery is within a month and I want to be set up with these two main sizes. I also will
experiment more with the other colors I have but they did not seem to be as active….That said I only ran the
blue and red a short time and went immediately to the glow and clear when the rods went quiet…
