Interview
As a reporter, write at least 10 thought
provoking questions for Brian to answer.
These questions should be open ended, not
one word or yes/no answers. Then, answer
the questions as you think Brian would. Each
answer should be 3 sentences long or more.
When you have both the questions and
answers:
A. Film the “interview” and include a wrap
up segment at the end summarizing
the interview.
OR
B. Write a newspaper article summarizing
the interview.
Totem
1. Choose 5 character traits that represent the main
character Brian. Choose an animal that represents
each character trait. Use the information collected to
make a Totem Pole. After completing the totem pole:
A. Write at least one paragraph for each
character trait. This paragraph should
identify the character trait, the animal that
represents the trait, and an explanation why
this trait represents Brian. TEXT EVIDENCE
must be included! Paragraphs should be
typed.
OR
B. Create a powerpoint presentation to be
presented in class. You should include at least
one slide per character trait. Each slide
should identify the character trait, the animal
that represents the trait, and an explanation
why this trait represents Brian. TEXT
EVIDENCE must be included!
Graphic Novel
Hatchet
Personify the Hatchet, and have it
summarize the novel from its own
point of view. This summary should
be at least one page typed in size
12 Calibri font.
Create a graphic novel (comic book
style) for one chapter in Hatchet that
you found significant to the overall
theme of the book. At the end of
your graphic novel, include a
paragraph explaining the significance
of that chapter. Support your claims
with text evidence.
