What’s your favorite thing to do when
you’re not at work?
I have lots of interests outside of the
office. Those include exercising daily and
staying active playing tennis, racquetball,
basketball, and hiking. I enjoy spending
time with my kids and watching them
play sports. I also love the Dallas Cowboys (I named my first son Dallas
after them) and have been able to go to a few games in Dallas. I must
be good luck because they have won every game I’ve been to in Dallas.
What I love the most though is traveling. There are so many neat places
to see and experience that I just can’t get enough.
How did you get started with that?
I think through my parents. My dad was a construction worker growing
up and the only trips we ever took for a long time were weekend camping
trips. When I was 10 my parents took us to Disney Land and I was in
love with traveling and seeing different parts of the country and world.
When I got married we were young (18!) and didn’t know much. We
weren’t very good at traveling but my wife and I have learned a lot on how
to travel on a budget, find good deals, and really enjoy all the aspects of
traveling – including the airport!
Why do you like to do it?
I think I just love people and I really like to meet and interact with the
local people of where ever we go. There are so many interesting and
good people out there and I just love to immerse myself in their culture,
activities, and food.

Who do you do it with?
I love to travel with my family and kids. These are the best trips for sure. Creating memories that we always talk
about is far more important than any electronic device or game we could give them. We all have busy schedules
so when we travel together we get to reconnect as a family.
What’s your funniest, scariest or most exciting moment?
Funniest for me and my wife is also one of the scariest for my son Dallas. He was 5 and we went to Disney Land.
In the first 5 minutes of being there we went to the show “The Incredible Shrinking Audience.” This is a 4-D
show (3-D glasses and they spray you with mist). Dallas thought it was real and was screaming in fear at the
giant snake when it came at us in 3-D. I finally had to reach over and take his 3-D glasses off so he could see it
was fake. My wife and I were giggling (I know, not very nice). Next we went on the “Star Tours” ride. Again,
Dallas thought this was real and was terrrified. We decided to go to “It’s a Small World” after that to take it a
little easier.
SUCCESS STORY
Man with severe, debilitating back pain gets back to life after
Physical Therapy
Wilfred Jaramillo started his day in early November 2015 like any other day. He
had breakfast and set out to do some work around the house. That work included
lifting and moving several wood pallets. When he was moving the pallets he felt
a pop in his back and had immediate pain, pain so bad he was unable to stand or
walk. Wilfred said “I had a terrible back injury at my home. I was in lots of pain.
My muscles spasms were terrible.” He was eventually able to get to a doctor who
gave him medication, but the medication did not help much and just made him
feel funny. Wilfred was getting discouraged saying “I felt like no one could make
the pain go away!”
By this time, Wilfred is having to walk with a walker and even the little
movements cause his severe pain. He could barely even get out of bed. Two
weeks later he decided to see Brandon at Rock Run Physical Therapy. When he first came in Wilfred was
walking very slow and using a walker. He needed help lying down on the table and getting back up. Brandon
first did some gentle exercises and movements to get Wilfred moving with less pain. Gradually, Wilfred was able
to do more and more exercises with less pain. After a week and a half he stopped using the walker and used a
cane, but that didn’t last long as he only used the cane for a few days before he decided he was strong enough to
go back walking without any assistive devices. Slowly, more exercises were added so Wilfred could get strong
again and prevent a repeat of his injury. He eventually was able to start helping his son build a trailer and do
more work around his home and after only 5 weeks he was able to stop coming to physical therapy and continue
his exercises on his own! Wilfred was thankful of the care he got at Rock Run Physical Therapy saying “Brandon
and Don told me they could help me and convinced me I would get better. And guess what, after two weeks I was
walking without the walker and driving my truck again. After 5 weeks of therapy I was left with very little pain.
Thank you Brandon, Don and Josh!”
WAY TO GO WILFRED!
