A / May 2012 1.6 Intended Use Use of the Intelivalve Solenoid Pinch Valve products other than the intended use stated below can result in protection impairment, injury to the user and is strictly prohibited. The Intelivalve Solenoid Pinch Valve product is used to pinch, or seal off flexible tubing within manufacturer conditions and specifications. The product is a set of components that are designed and embedded into systems or equipment where fluidic control and management is required. Each Intelivalve pinch valve model is specified for operation with different size tubing ranges. Each pinch valve is designed for 2‐way operation being fully open, or closed. In a closed state, power is not needed. To achieve an open state power is supplied to the pinch valve. Each pinch valve is designed for panel mounting where the top head portion is exposed for user interaction. Portions below the panel mount, along with cables and electronics are meant to be embedded within equipment or systems where physical user access is limited. The Acrosense FCP‐A electronic controller board is designed for powering and operation of up to two (2) Intelivalve Solenoid Pinch Valves. The cable set provided provides power and data communications between the electronic controller board and either one (1) or two (2) pinch valves. The combination of Intelivalve Pinch Valve with the Acrosense FCP‐A controller board and cable set enables several technological features to be performed including; adaptive pulse and hold power management (PWM), valve open and closed state sensing, presence or non‐presence of loaded tubing, electronic noise dampening, and life cycle usage and diagnostic failure feedback. Any use other than that described herein, or design modification of manufacturer’s product without expressed written authorization is strictly prohibited. User acknowledges and assumes all liabilities outside manufacturer’s intended use. ©2012 All rights reserved Rev. A / May 2012 1.7 Unpacking and Installation Intelivalve Solenoid Pinch Valves are packaged in either foam fitting molds, or bubble wrap and placed inside appropriately sized cardboard boxes. Boxes are branded and labeled with company and packaged product information. Acrosense FCP‐A electronic controller boards and cable sets are packaged in electrostatic plastic bags, and then placed into foam fitted molds which are then enclosed in cardboard boxing. Boxes are branded and labeled with company information and packaged product information. Intelivalve Solenoid Pinch Valves may be carefully removed from their packaging and placed on a leveled surface for installation. Acrosense FCP‐A boards and cable sets should be removed and handled by the user using hooked up to an electrostatic grounding cable or station. It is recommended that the boards be securely mounted in an enclosure to protect from dust, moisture and physical contact. FCP‐A mounted in an Enclosure Use of Grounding Strap Installation of either the Intelivalve Solenoid Pinch Valve or the Acrosense FCP‐A board may be done in a horizontal or vertical axis plane. Pinch valves should be aligned and mounted into a electrically grounded panel. Panel mounting screws supplied by the user should then be used to secure the pinch valve and compress the mounting seal into a permanent fixed position for operation. ©2012 All rights reserved Rev. A / May 2012 Valves mounted – Front of Panel Valves mounted – Rear of Panel Exposure to any direct fluids or vapors should be strictly avoided. At no point are any of the Intelivalve or its supporting components designed to be submerged into any fluid whatsoever. Tube loading must be done with caution. The valve is to be actuated electronically to open. With hands at a safe distance apart hold tubing firmly and position in front and above tube slot. With valve open move tubing above tube entry slot and pull down into valve head making sure to keep fingers free of pinch area. Once tubing is successfully loaded removed hands from tubing. Ready to Load Tube Tube Properly Loaded Refer to the following cable hook up guide and connection details below for installation of cables. ©2012 All rights reserved Rev. A / May 2012 1.9 Cleaning and Maintenance Intelivalve Solenoid Pinch Valves are designed for normal spray down sterilization procedures and include internal splash seals that prevent fluid spray penetration. Normal biological sterilization procedures can be done to the exposed valve head surface areas that come in contact with the tubing (i.e. tube slot area). Some common sterilization solutions or methods that can be spray used at appropriate concentrations are: 1.10 Ethanol (3‐5%) Methanol (3‐5%) Iso‐Propyl Alcohol (3‐5%) Hydrogen Peroxide (3‐5%) Ammonia (3‐5%) Bleach UV radiation exposure not exceeding 15 minutes With the authorization and training by Acro Associates, if routine maintenance outside of normal use is required for technical reasons, then an operator will be permitted to access certain areas of the product to perform limited maintenance in a safe, guided manner. This requires Acro Associates to train and certify that the user has been informed on how to access limited areas for safe maintenance. Troubleshooting ©2012 All rights reserved Rev. A / May 2012 In the event of pinch valve failure, the Acrosense FCP‐A controller board will provide a variety of flashing LED combinations that can provide the user with feedback. ©2012 All rights reserved Rev.
