KEVIN J. HOLZENDORF A lifelong Jacksonville resident, Kevin J. Holzendorf has spent his career in the private and public sectors working in the fields accounting, financial services, and technology. Prior to joining Southern Strategy Group’s Jacksonville office, Kevin served as Director of Operations and IT for Greenshades Software Inc., a payroll and tax services software development company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Kevin served as the Director of the Information Technologies Department (ITD) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the City of Jacksonville from 2007 to 2011. As CIO, Kevin provided executive leadership for ITD which supports users of more than 8,000 desktops, 400 servers, 10,000 telephones, 600 network devices, 350 applications and databases, 11,000 radios and 11 radio towers. Kevin managed a department budget of $43 million with 165 employees. Under Kevin’s leadership, the City of Jacksonville adopted a five-year technology plan that focuses on increasing the use of technology to deliver services to the citizens of Jacksonville, including the following IT projects that underscore the benefits of business-based technology solutions in making Jacksonville’s local government more responsive and effective: • • • • • • Relocated the City of Jacksonville’s multimillion dollar data center. Implemented managed print services in all levels of government. Instituted a citywide PC refresh program, reducing annual operational costs by $50,000. Outsourced desktop support functions, further reducing operational costs by $300,000 each year. Deployed the City of Jacksonville’s time and attendance systems. Deployed the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office integrated location system. Before his role as CIO, Mayor John Peyton appointed Kevin to the Director of Operations Excellence where he managed and directed the functions of the Mayor’s Office of Performance Auditing and Management Accountability. After 12 years in banking, Kevin began working in the public sector to assist in the growth of the City of Jacksonville. Kevin was hired by Mayor John Peyton in 2004 to be a Policy Director on his senior staff. Kevin developed and directed projects and strategic initiatives that supported economic development and job growth in Jacksonville. Kevin successfully established the Jacksonville Small and Emerging Business program’s access to capital function by raising $1 million from the Jacksonville banking community for small business lending. Prior to joining Mayor Peyton’s Administration, Kevin worked in banking with Bank of America in various senior roles Kevin is active in the Jacksonville community, serving as a Big Brother in the Big Brother/Big Sister Program, Jacksonville Transportation Authority Board Member, Jacksonville Cultural Council Board where he chairs the Advocacy Committee, Jacksonville Chamber Policy Committee Member, Wolfson Children’s Hospital Development Council Member, YMCA Board Member, and Chair of the United Negro College Fund Leadership Council.
