The mandated four-year review of all Modern Awards commenced in 2014. The Pastoral, Horticultural and Wine Awards are currently being reviewed. include overtime provisions for casual employees, in addition there is a live claim to restrict the timeoff in lieu of overtime provisions in the Pastoral, Horticulture and Wine Industry Awards. This will be an important review if for no other reason that the Modern Award Objectives were amended by the previous Government. Taken literally, the Fair Work Commission MUST now ensure that modern awards provide a fair and relevant minimum safety net of terms and conditions, taking into account: PET WEBSITE New Section 134 (1) (da) – the need to provide additional remuneration for: Employees working overtime; Employees working unsocial, irregular or unpredictable hours; or Employees working on weekends or public holidays; or Employees working shifts.
