What's New in ioGAS 6.1 The latest ioGAS version contains the following new features: Anomaly Assessment Tool The Anomaly Assessment Tool (AAT) is used to identify atypical samples across multiple input variables by defined group, or in the data set as a whole. It has two main applications, to assist with documenting and prioritising anomalies for exploration follow-up, and for resource model domaining. ioGAS uses two unsupervised methods to identify atypical samples. For the univariate tests, the AAT uses Tukey box and whisker plot statistics and for the multivariate test, the AAT uses the Mahalanobis Distance to take correlated sample behaviour within a category or domain into account. AAT Results columns showing anomalous samples using counts 1 = outlier, 2 = far outlier, “+” = upper outlier, “-” = lower outlier, * = far outlier Total outlier count for selected variables displayed in AAT Totals column Self Organising Maps (SOM) Unsupervised training algorithm using neural networks to produce rapid classification of groups within a dataset. This version includes refined internal algorithm and ability to save and re-apply SOMs to new datasets. SOM Settings dialog, Count Matrix, U-Matrix & Classified SOM with individual gridded SOM Weight maps New Analysis>Self Organising Maps menu: Create New SOM - Generate a new self organising map User - Library of user created SOMs Open Other SOM - Open a user created SOM which is not part of any of the libraries above. Browse to the location of the SOM *.XML file to open. Recent SOMs - Display the last 20 SOM opened. Good for accessing commonly used SOMs without having to go through the menu system each time. Optimised SOM Settings New Transform: Scale 0.0 to 1 Seed: Integer value that generates a specific sequence of pseudo-random numbers used by the SOM cluster algorithm. To use a new seed number click the Generate button. The seed is used to generate random starting positions in two places, to set the initial weights of the neurons, and to randomise the order of the input data points during the SOM iterations. To reproduce a SOM result, the same seed needs to be used. Euclidean distance measure, Neighbourhood radius decay over time and Gaussian Neighbourhood Function type hard-coded into algorithm. Modifications to SOM Plots Additional SOM parameters displayed – transform, seed, radius SOM Properties – assign SOM group title and attribute group names, add custom comments Apply SOM – attribute all/visible rows with classified groups SOM Weight Map – display classified neurons over greyscale heatmaps Save SOM – save and re-use SOM parameters as XML file New Classification Diagram Editing Tools Digitise Curved Boundaries Add Polygon/ Add Polyline - Digitise curved boundaries by holding down the Shift key Seamlessly join curved boundaries using Section Ends to define shared segments. Section ends are created during digitising (hold Ctrl key) or via Edit Shape tool. Point Density Contours and Contour using Colour tools created using curved boundaries. Includes node reduction option to produces smoother boundaries. Donut Polygons Cut out a hole within a polygon – hold down “c” key on last vertex (to automatically close 1st polygon) then digitise internal polygon in reverse direction. Other general diagram editing improvements include: Automatically snap to nodes on neighbouring polygons or polylines – new shape and cursor turn red when within snap distance of existing vertex New Edit Shape features: o Separate co-joined shapes by holding ‘s” key while dragging vertex o Click vertex to permanently delete or to change to a section end vertex. Section end vertices (open circles) are required when creating seamless joins between curved boundaries. Make Diagram from 3D Plot Window Create a classification diagram using the current 3D rotation parameters as the diagram X and Y axes. Use Make Diagram from Current 3D View Two new variables (3D Diagram X, 3D Diagram Y) automatically added to Select Variables dialog and used as the 3D Diagram axes. 3D Diagram window is identical to the New XY Diagram window and is ready for editing using the standard diagram editing tools. Can also be used with the Analysis>Auto-Domain Classification Diagram tool as in the example below: icon from 3D Plot RHS toolbar Mineral and Rock Node Enhancements Mineral Assemblages - Provided suite of minerals associated with common ore deposits, e.g. Epithermal Au, VHMS, Red Bed Cu, etc Chemical formulae displayed next to minerals View list of currently visible mineral and rock nodes Windows Menu Change Text Size of Existing Plots Increase the size of plot Title, Axis Label and Tick Label text in all open plot windows. Useful when preparing plots for presentations or live demonstrations. Any new plots opened after the text size is increased are displayed using the default text size. Normal - Title = 18 pt, Axis Labels = 12 pt, Tick Labels = 10 pt Medium - Title = 24 pt, Axis Labels = 16 pt, Tick Labels = 13 pt Large - Title = 27 pt, Axis Labels = 18 pt, Tick Labels = 15 pt Extra Large - Title = 36 pt, Axis Labels = 24 pt, Tick Labels = 20 pt Additional Improvements File Menu Open XRF Data Provided detection limit replacement values for selected XRF Units Column Properties Specify Date/Time as Special Column in order to view correctly in Data View window, Line Plot tool and tooltips. ioGAS recognises Excel and ISO8601 format (Timezone is not supported) Expanded dialog and improved scrolling Mn3O4_pct/ppm, Se, Rb, Nb, Ag, Cd, Ta, W, Hg & Bi_pct added to alias list Data Validation Tools Missing Data Patterns Elements Present column added Ability to sort columns in Report window Select Variables Options to select All Text Columns and All Numeric (unaliased) Columns at the same time Attribute Manager Filter Tool Filter tab highlighted when filter is active Filtered rows column added Option to Make Variable from Filter group/s in Data menu Compatible with Leapfrog Geo Link Automatically display Attribute Manager dialog when selecting data and no attribute is selected Graphs 3D Plots Show/Hide invisible rows - Invisible rows displayed as small grey points to denote the path of the drillhole trace Downhole Plot Automatic recognition of selected depth from/to columns Tukey Box Plot & Histogram Spawn individual plots multi-plot windows Probability Plot Edit Render Settings added to Probability Plot RHS toolbar Map Menu RGB Grids New Equiluminant Basis Colour option Analysis Tools Summary Statistics Mode – most frequently occurring value Robust Standard Deviation – IQR * 0.7413 (normally distributed data) Auto-Domain Classification Diagram - opens in editable mode and domains generated with curved boundaries General Pan window by holding down mouse middle button/scroll wheel Scrollbars added to Recent Diagrams, Recent Calculations and Recent Spider Plots Rename ALS CSV file to ALS file New Calculation Regolith Weathering Index of Parker (Parker, 1970)
