Prom Information Letter 2017

“Grecian Night” Sycamore High School Prom 2017 Dear Parents and Juniors/Seniors:
Prom is a special event in the life of high school students. The following information is
provided in order to help you and your son/daughter plan for the ​2017 Prom on Saturday, May
13, 2017​. ​Please carefully read all of the information enclosed.
The prom dance will be held at The Oasis Conference Center located at ​902 LovelandMiamiville Rd, Loveland, OH 45140. Students may start checking in at 8:30 pm and the dance
will begin at 8:45pm. Students must be in the door by 9:30 pm. Snacks and drinks will be
provided during the evening. Prom ends at 11:30 pm and the After Prom starts at 12:00
midnight and will be held at SHS.
All students and guests attending must complete a prom agreement form.​ This form must be
completed and signed by all individuals regardless of the student's age or education status to
purchase tickets. Students may not purchase tickets for anyone other than themselves and their
guest/date. Students who wish to bring a guest must complete a guest request form and submit
it for approval. ​Any guest attending prom must be at least a freshman in high school and ​under
the age of 21 years old.​ All outstanding fees ​must be paid​ before purchasing tickets.
This is a special night for our students and we are asking for your help and cooperation in
making prom memorable, enjoyable, and safe for your son/daughter and the other
students attending.​ ​Only students with tickets and faculty members are permitted in the Oasis
Conference Centerr​. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about
prom.

TICKETS & PROM AGREEMENT FORM
The ticket price includes the snacks, drinks, favors, decorations, dance admission, venue rental,
music entertainment, printing, photography available at the dance, security and service charges.
All students and guests attending must complete the prom agreement form​. This form must be
completed and signed by all individuals regardless of the person’s age or education status to
purchase tickets.
Only current Sycamore Juniors and Seniors may purchase tickets. Students may not purchase
tickets for anyone other than themselves and their ONE guest/date. ​Tickets may not be resold
or transferred to anyone else. Tickets and a current photo ID must be presented to enter
The Oasis Conference Center for the evening.
Ticket Sales​ EARLY BIRD pricing- $30 per person
WEEK PRIOR pricing- $35 per person
April (27th-28th) (Thursday - Friday)
May (1st- 5th) (Mon- Friday)
Last Chance Ticket Sales​ $40 per person May 8th & 9th (MONDAY-TUESDAY ONLY)
Checks for Prom tickets should be made payable to SHS - Prom.
**No REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
All outstanding fees must be paid before purchasing tickets. Students must get a fee form
signed by the school treasurer or an administrator prior to purchasing tickets.
GUESTS
If a SHS student is inviting a non-SHS student to prom, a guest request form must be completed
and approved prior to ticket purchase. ​ ​Guest request forms are available in the main office,
school counseling center, and online.
Guest must be at least a freshman in high school and ​UNDER​ 21 years of age at the time
of the event to attend. A guest form must be completed and ​signed by all individuals
regardless of the person’s age or education status​ to purchase tickets.
Attire - “Dress to Impress”
All dress for the SHS prom must be formal, modest, and appropriate for our school. ​Only students and their
guests meeting the dress requirements will be admitted into Prom.
Young men should wear a tuxedo, suit or dress pants with a jacket, dress shirt, tie and dress shoes.
Young ladies should wear a dress, gown, or pantsuit that is in ​good taste and appropriate​ for a high school
student.
Students will not be admitted wearing hats, costumes, cargo pants, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, torn or
inappropriate clothing, caps, or any item referencing tobacco, drugs, alcohol, or profanity.
ITEMS NOT ALLOWED TO BE BROUGHT TO PROM
Water bottles, drinks, food, alcohol, flasks, all tobacco products, any illegal substances, canes, lighters/matches,
markers, sharp objects, and any weapons are not allowed. Backpacks and large purses are also not allowed.
Purses, bags, jackets, etc. are subject to search.
A CHEMICALLY FREE SCHOOL EVENT
Possession or use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs will result in admittance being denied or immediate removal
from the Prom and no refund will be given. All students are subject to breathalyzer testing and bags or jackets
are subject to being searched.
SONG SUGGESTIONS
SHS juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to suggest songs at the time of ticket purchase. Two songs
and the artists that they would like to hear at prom may be suggested. Requests may be edited or ignored if not
acceptable.
ADMITTANCE/READMITTANCE POLICY
All students and guests are required to check in at prom and present their ticket and a photo ID for
admission into the dance at The Oasis Conference Center.​ Your name and your guest’s name must be on
the list or you will not be admitted.
The prom is a school-sponsored event. All rules and regulations listed in the Sycamore High School handbook
apply. Please be respectful of all rules regarding the use of The Oasis Conference Center. Students and guests
will be removed from the premises with ​NO REFUND​ for improper conduct, violations of school/prom rules,
or refusal to comply with requests from the administration, chaperones, or facilities staff.
As is the case with other SHS sponsored dance events, prom attendees must remain at The Oasis Conference
Center prom site for the entire time.
All students and guests must comply with all school rules and prom rules and guidelines. The prom agreement
should be read and ​signed by all attendees and parents​.
If you are denied admittance, leave or are removed from the Prom, you may not reenter and NO
REFUND will be given.
PROM QUEEN AND KING
SHS juniors and seniors have the opportunity to nominate seniors for Prom Queen and King. All juniors and
seniors will have the opportunity to nominate two senior girls and two senior boys during ACE bell. A ballot
will be generated from nominations and a vote will be held also during ACE bell. The coronation is held at
prom.
AFTER PROM
After prom will be held at SHS beginning at midnight. Please remember that prom and after prom tickets are
sold separately.

What do I need to bring to the ticket table when I’m ready to purchase my ticket(s)?
1. Prom Agreement Form (completed with signatures and phone numbers)
2. Fee Form signed by treasurer or administrator
3. Cash or Check for the amount of the tickets (this will depend on the day you choose
to purchase). ​Make checks payable to SHS Prom
4. Completed Guest Form (if you are bringing a guest who doesn’t attend SHS).
