WHAT:
Grab your best viewing spot as Athens rolls out the pomp and
pageantry of its annual Greek Independence Day celebrations
with a series of colourful street parades.
From 11am on the Friday,

other dignitaries.

Athens Photo Festival
WHAT:
Emerging and established artists and photographers from all
around the world are invited to submit their finest
photography moments to be considered for the 2017 Athens Photo
Festival exhibition programme.
The selected projects will be exhibited at the Benaki Museum
from 7 June to 31 July 2017.
The Festival is looking for a wide variety of works, ranging
from fine art to documentary and photojournalism, photo-based
installations and multimedia works. Organizers are also
accepting submissions for their photobook section as well as
for the Young Greek Photographers exhibition.
Athens Photo Festival is the leading international festival of
photography in Southeastern Europe. Under the title ‘Still
Searching,’ Athens Photo Festival celebrates its 30 years
anniversary, and continues its tradition of exploring the
social impact of the ever-changing visual culture.
At the core of the festival is a range of events, including
portfolio reviews, screenings, talks and discussions,
workshops, and various community and participatory projects.
Community involvement will also be encouraged through
satellite exhibitions in various locations in the city.

WHAT:
Greece’s largest Olive Oil and Olive exhibition showcases
Greece’s most famous and timeless export – the olive, in all
its facets.
The event is open to all visitors and also
welcomes ambassadors and olive merchants from around the
world, suppliers of chain supermarkets, hotels and shipping
companies, as well as restaurants and catering facilities. The
scientific conference on “Olive & Olive Oil” and the 5th
“Greek extra virgin olive oils” contest will also take place.

Landscapes (Topia)
WHAT:
Be the first to experience SNFCC’s superlative Main Stage in
play as the Greek National Opera stages its first production
there as part of its pilot season: a triple neo-classical
ballet bill called Landscapes, which aims to open a new path
in their artistic identity.
The turbulent music of John Adams is reflected in the creative
and person-centred choreography of Andonis Foniadakis,
Benjamin Millepied and Douglas Lee.
Tickets range from €20-€50 (with €15 for students).
