NOTE: A Juvenile (17 years of age – born in 2000) may compete in a Junior and/or Senior competition.
Parental authorization and a medical certificate are required.
All athlete, coach, support staff & officials registrations and payments must be made through the online
Registration Portal: https://register.wrestling.ca/2017-junior-senior-canadian-wrestling-championships/
Other requirements for participation will also be found in the registration portal.
REGISTRATION
The registration deadline is March 10th, 2017 at 11:59 pm ET. Late registrations will be accepted until March
17th, 2017 at 11:59 pm ET, but will be subject to a late fee as outlined in the “Entry Fees” section below. No
registrations will be accepted after March 17th, 2017 at 11:59 pm ET. This applies to all athletes, coaches
and support staff.
All athletes, coaches and support staff must be registered members of their Provincial Wrestling Association
and Wrestling Canada Lutte and be members in good standing as of the time of weigh-in for the event. Please
check with your Provincial Wrestling Association to determine if they have any additional registration
requirements. Officials must be registered members in good standing with the Canadian Association of
Wrestling Officials (CAWO) and their Provincial Wrestling Officials Association (if applicable).

COACHES
§
All coaches must register using the Wrestling Canada Lutte online registration process and submit all
required information and documents (must include your NCCP certification number).
Coaches must be fully CERTIFIED in NCCP Competition-Development and/or NCCP Level 3 (or
equivalent) to be eligible to coach in the corner during the event AND have successfully completed their
“Make Ethical Decisions - Competition Development” online evaluation. For all Coaching requirements

NCCP coaching certification registration forms, submitted by Coach Developers, and PTSOs, will be
accepted NO LATER than the registration deadline for the Canadian Championships in any given year, for
the purposes of checking and approving coaching certification for coaching eligibility at such Canadian
Championships.
Payment of entry fees will be done through the WCL online Registration Portal.

$135.00 – Men’s and Women’s Freestyle, Greco-Roman (one event)
$175.00 – Men’s Freestyle plus Greco-Roman (two events)
SENIOR
$135.00 – Men’s and Women’s Freestyle, Greco-Roman (one event)

ENTRY FEES
All entries received after March 10th, 2017 will be subject to a $25 late fee per event entered.
No registrations will be accepted after March 17th, 2017 at 11:59 pm ET.
SCRATCHES
§ All scratches before March 10th, 2017 (11:59 pm ET) will be fully refundable.
§ All scratches after March 10th, 2017 (11:59 pm ET) & prior to March 17th, 2017 (11:59 pm ET) will be 75%
refundable.
§ All scratches after March 17th, 2017 (11:59 pm ET) are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Please check with your PTSO to determine if any additional fees apply.

RULES
§
Wrestling Canada Lutte 2016-2017 rules will apply with a modified double elimination bracket system.
Competitors must be members in good standing with their PTSO and Wrestling Canada Lutte.
Men’s and Women’s Freestyle as well as Men’s Greco-Roman competition is closed and only Canadian
citizens and those individuals with Permanent Resident status may compete. Legal proof of age and
citizenship must be provided when registering online and at weigh-ins.
PRACTICE TIMES
All practice times must be booked. Please reserve your practice times no later than March 1st. Practices will be
in the Ian Beddis Gym. For practice times please contact Marty Calder ([email protected]).
A doctor will be in attendance and athletic therapists will be on site. Athletes requiring preventative therapy will
require their own supplies.
MEDICAL & DOPING CONTROL
Doping control will be in effect at the event. Please refer to www.cces.ca for information regarding the
Canadian Anti-Doping Program. For questions regarding the anti-doping program, please contact Tamara
