Min-a:
Taking a promenade through the Garden of Morning Calm is a must. It is actually the oldest
private garden in South Korea.
Cassie:
Min-a:
What a poetic name!
It was inspired by an Indian poet, who named old Korea “The land of the morning calm”.
Cassie:
Have you been there before?
Min-a:
Yes. The flowers are in bloom in almost every season. During winter, the illumination and
lighting festival create sceneries of utmost beauty.
Cassie:
Sounds like there’s always something new to see. Which festival is your favorite?
Min-a:
Autumnal Tints. I love the vibrant reds of the trees. There are also 20 differently-themed
regions. One of them is shaped like the peninsula and is covered with flowers. It alludes to
people’s longing for reunification.
Cassie:
The fragrances must be wonderful. How many species of plants are there?
Min-a:
Around 5000. Some of them are from the Baekdu Mountain, which we consider to be sacred
and to be the place of our origin.
Cassie:
It sounds like a realm from a fairy tale!
Min-a:
Wait until you see how it looks like!
