Nurse of the Year in Minnesota
OVERVIEW: Dating back to the polio era, nurses have played a critical
role in advancing the mission of the March of Dimes. Forty-thousand
nurses volunteered for the Salk polio vaccine field trials in 1954, the
largest medical investigation of its kind ever conducted.
Today, nurses serve as volunteers, fundraisers and advisors to the
March of Dimes. Nurses are critical to our mission of improving the
health of babies – and are key in comforting families.
Nominations are open from May 6th through July 15th. All nominees are
asked to complete an application by August 1st. On August 18th a
Nominee Social event is held to celebrate all of the nominees. The Top 5
applicants for each award category are announced on September 1st.
The seventh annual Nurse of the Year Awards Ceremony is held on
October, 14th.
From the very youngest of patients in newborn intensive care units to
the elderly in hospice, nurses protect our health, work to prevent injury,
alleviate suffering and advocate for our care. The Nurse of the Year
Awards are a way to say thank you and honor selflessness, dedication
and passion for the profession of nursing.
Say thank you to the thousands of nurses who make all of our lives a
little easier. Nominations are due by July 15th, 2016. Complete details
