5th December 2015
Our final group of 2015 took place on Saturday 5th December and was
of course our ‘Inspire! Christmas Party!’ Patients arrived to the sounds
of festive Christmas songs before being invited to take part in many
activities such as gingerbread decorating & arts and crafts. A company
called ‘Giggle Together’ joined us for an hour and had a range of
confidence building activities to take part in as well as finishing with a
group laughter yoga session. We were certainly all laughing by the
end of that! Our brilliant photo booth was set up again with our
photographer Andrew capturing some great shots and there was also
the opportunity for nail painting and massages with our dedicated
therapists. Our arts and crafts table was kept busy all afternoon and
our patients had the chance to create Christmas crackers with a small present inside, Christmas
cards or even a centrepiece for their dinner table! The final hour consisted of eating mince pies
and drinking mulled wine or hot chocolate whilst listening to the wonderful voices of
representatives from the Chelmsford Male Voice Choir who returned for another year & sung a
range of traditional carols for patients and their families to enjoy. Our Christmas presents this
year were kindly donated from a National Citizen Service Team from Essex Boys & Girls Clubs so
a big thank you to them for their support. What a great year it has been & we look forward to
lots more fun in 2016!
We would like to say a big thank you to all of our dedicated & loyal volunteers
who have played an instrumental part in making Inspire! such a success in 2015.
