Hurricane Joaquin Advisory 1 – October 1, 2015 12 O’Clock Noon Threat – Talbot County residents should continue to monitor the status of Hurricane Joaquin. Joaquin is a category three hurricane as of 5 a.m. this morning and could potentially be a major player in our weather for the next several days. At the very least we are expecting a substantial amount of rain between now and Sunday. Public Recommendations – All residents should take this opportunity to review general emergency preparedness, check emergency preparedness kits and standby for potential impacts of this storm to our area. Just how far off the coast the storm tracks will have a significant impact on just how serious this storm will be for our area. Please continue to check back for updates on timing and possible winds and precipitation amounts. Regional Coordination - The first meeting of EOC was held today at 10 a.m. It included a conference call with the National Weather Service and the Maryland Emergency Management Agency as well as updates from the important players in EOC operations.
