Describe the development of Mesopotamian societies; include the religious, cultural, economic, and political facets of society, with attention to Hammurabi’s law code. e. Explain the development and importance of writing; include cuneiform, hieroglyphics, and the Phoenician alphabet. What does an ancient society’s written law tell us about that society? 20min 1. Bell Ringer: The students will complete the bell ringer on my OLC. 2. Activator: The students will take a unit 1 quiz. 30 min 1. The teacher will distribute excerpts from Hammurabi’s Code. 2. The students will answer dbq’s about Hammurabi’s Code. 5 min Exit Ticket: The students will complete an exit ticket on Socrative. Computer, internet, and Socrative access Excerpts from Hammurabi’s Code. DBQ’s. Students may come to tutoring for extra help if they need it. Students may choose to work in pairs to complete the activity and to help each other out.
