Hey Everybody,
I greet each one of you with the Light and Love of the Creator of All
Things.
Just so you know, I'm grinning one of those sardonic grins. As I
understand it, my case and this transfer ordeal is all over Canadian
media outlets. Here in the States, there's not a peep. So for me, this is
all surreal.
Some time ago, Eldon asked me to write an update newsletter on
what's going on and the like, and I'm STILL thinking "huh?"
As an example, on August 11th my parents informed me that my
transfer was approved by the Canadian Minister of Public Safety and
Emergency Preparedness, the Hon. Ralph Goodale. Then, as I understand it, this hit the Canadian media again. However, as before, here in
the States it didn't warrant a peep, and it wasn't until today that I received any type of notice at all, and this was a very brief letter from
Mr. Joseph Daou, Senior Manager, International Transfer Unit, Canada.
One of the worst parts of prison is the communication barriers. Reality is, every one of you knew of my Canadian approval "officially"
almost a full week before I did. Fact is, each of you has the means and
ability to know far more than I ever will.
I've begged and pleaded for everyone to co-ordinate with each other
— communicate, interact, and be prepared for this day — but I have
absolutely no way to know if anyone other than Ellen is active or not.
Bottom line is I am simply UNABLE to communicate.
I can write, but I have no access to real talk, and nobody has written
in so long, all I can do is guess.
Efforts are under way to obtain Florida Governor Rick Scott's e-mail
address. Unfortunately, access to Governor Scott by e-mail through
MyFlorida.com is restricted to people with a Florida address. Meanwhile I urge all of you to sit down and compose, in your own words, a
brief regular-mail letter to Governor Scott making the following two
points:
> William Russell Davies, prisoner #111211, a Canadian inmate at
Hardee Correctional Institution, for the third time has been approved
by the Government of Canada for transfer to a Canadian prison.
> After 30 years, his aging parents in Canada are no longer able to
visit him. I (we) urge you to please consider transferring him to Canada’s Department of Corrections.

I would ask each of you to pass the address and number to everyone
you know and ask each of them to pass them on ... AND I would pray
that EVERYONE call and mail Rick Scott at least once.
I can't do this on my own. Ellen, Mary Beth and Loftus are on overload and your involvement will make a huge difference. Please, this
will now start moving fast and it needs to happen now.
Wish I had more information to provide, but the truth is most of you
know more than I do. Hopefully, it won't be long until I'm "there with
you."
