The Ranger Naturalist Program at Brooker Creek Preserve in Tarpon Springs, Florida
provides a service learning opportunity for high school students, ages 15-18. The goal of
this program is to build leadership skills and environmental awareness with an emphasis on
workplace preparedness. Volunteer hours logged during this program can be applied to
Bright Futures College Scholarship Applications. Participants will be registered as Pinellas
County Volunteers, opening further volunteer opportunities in the County.
► Ranger Naturalist Program Overview for interested parents and students will
take place on May 16, 2017, 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Auditorium at Brooker Creek
Preserve.
A $20, non-refundable reservation fee will be collected from successful
applicants. The fee will cover program materials and T-shirt. This fee will be due
on or before June 26.
Note: This is an application. This is not a guarantee of acceptance. Applications will be reviewed and
positions will be granted per qualifications and availability based on the questions below. This
program is limited to 20 participants.

must abide by all policies and procedures. I understand that failure to comply with these requirements
may result in my dismissal as a volunteer.

reproduction of any and all videotaped and photographic recordings taken of me and /or my
child/children, my property (i.e., music, art, photography, home, vehicle, etc.) for use in not-for-profit
public education television productions and print media by the Pinellas County Government. I understand
that this will be done without compensation to me and all recordings or images shall become the property
of the Pinellas County Government.
