Our approach to Spanish second-language pedagogy in our two Canadian-edition
Spanish textbooks, Puntos de Partida and Más, shares a vision of language learning
where the acquisition of linguistic structures must occur within appropriate cultural
contexts, connecting learners of Spanish in Canada with millions of Spanish
speakers around the world.
To support an optimal learning environment for contemporary university students
studying Spanish in Canada, we believe in articulating clear, concise learning
objectives and outcomes matched to linguistic and cultural content. We choose to
integrate a communicative focus with a strong cultural/intercultural approach—
using authentic cultural material—and solid integrated grammar content.
