Aninvestmentaccountisthecashaccount(usuallyamoneymarketaccount)thatyouholdatyour
brokerage.Thisiswhereyourbrokerageholdsthefundsyouusetomakestock,mutualfundandother
investmentpurchases,andwherethebrokeragedepositstheproceedsfromsalesyouexecute.
WhichbrokeragesareaccessibleforExternalFundsTransfer?
TheTransferFundsServiceallowsyoutoaddinvestmentaccountsfromanyofouraffiliatedonline
brokeragefirms.Weofferaccesstomostofthenation'sprominentbrokeragefirms.Whenaddinga
brokerageaccount,thesupportedbrokeragefirmswillbedisplayed.

youhavecheck-writingcapabilitiesforyouraccount.Ifyouraccountincludescheck-writing
privileges,youwillbeaskedfortheABARoutingNumberthatappearsonyourcheck.
TrialDepositVerification:IfOnlineAccountVerificationisnotpossible,youwillbeaskedto
completeourconvenientTrialDepositVerificationprocess.Seebelowfordetailsregarding
onlineandofflineaccountverification.
• IfyousuccessfullycompletedOnlineVerification,youwillbetakentoapageconfirmingthat
thebrokerageaccountisreadytobeusedwiththeExternalFundsTransferService.The
brokerageaccountwillalsobelistedasactiveontheSettingspage.
• IfTrialDepositVerificationisrequired,youwillbetakentoapagewhereyouwillinitiatethe
TrialDepositprocess.ThebrokerageaccountwillalsobelistedontheSettingspagewitha
statusindicatedtheaccountneedstobeverified.Untilthebrokerageaccountisverified,it
willnotbeavailabletobeusedintheTransferFundsService.

Whatifmybrokeragedoesn’tappearontheAvailableBrokerageslist?
Unfortunately,ifyoudon’tseeyourbrokeragefirminthislist,youwon’tbeabletoaddaccountsheldat
thatbrokeragefirmtoyourExternalFundsTransferPortfolio.
HowcanIgetmyexternalaccountsverifiedusingTrialDepositVerification?
Ifforanyreason,youraccountcannotbeverifiedusingtheonlineverificationmethod,youwillbe
automaticallydirectedtoinitiatetheTrialDepositprocess.Onreceivingyourinstruction,Associated
CreditUnionwillmaketwodepositsintotheaccountyouareattemptingtoadd.1-2businessdayslater,
youwillbeabletoconfirmtheamountofthedeposits.
Onceyouknowtheamountofthedepositssenttotheaccountyouareadding,byeithercallingyour
financialinstitutionorfromyouronlineaccountstatement,justreturntotheExternalFundsTransfer
service,gototheTransferFundsorSettingspageandclickontheVerifylinknexttotheappropriate
account.Youwillthenbepromptedtoentertheamountsofthetwodeposits.Iftheamountsentered
arecorrect,yourexternalaccountwillbeaddedtotheservice.Theaccountstatuswillnowshowas
"Active"ontheSettingspage.

• Reviewingyourmonthlystatement
(Customershave30daystoverifytrialdeposits.After30days,thetrialdepositsexpireandcannotbe

HowlongdoesittaketogetmyaccountsverifiedusingTrialDepositVerification?
TheTrialDeposittransaction(s)aregenerallyavailable1-2businessdaysafterthedayyouinitiatedthe

IftheTrialDepositsdonotdepositsuccessfullytotheaccountyouareattemptingtoadd,youwillbe

periodicallythroughouttheday,thetimeframewithinwhichyoucancancelthetransferwillvary.
• YoucancancelaOne-timeNextDaytransferrequestany-timebeforethecut-offtime.
• AOne-timeScheduledtransferrequestcanbecanceledany-timebeforethetransfer’ssend
date.
• AnindividualRecurringtransfercanbecancelled,ascanallremainingRecurringtransfers.

past180days.Eachtransferrequestisdisplayedalongwiththedateandstatusofthetransfer.
Youshouldalsobeabletoconfirmthecompletionofthetransferwithyourfinancialinstitutionafter
scheduledcompletionofyourrequest.
Underwhatcircumstanceswillanattemptedfundstransferbeunsuccessful?
Afundstransferwillbereturnedifitcannotbesuccessfullypostedtoyouraccount.Themostcommon
reasonsforfailedorreturnedfundstransfersare:
• Lackofsufficientfundsinthesourceaccount
• Exceedingthedollarlimitforanindividualtransaction,totaltransactionsconductedinthelast

• Complete:Thetransferisconfirmed.Thetransferwillbereflectedinyouraccountbalanceswith

• Rejected:Wewereunabletoremovethefundsfromthesourceaccountorplacethefundsin
yourdestinationaccount.Atypicalcauseoffailedorreturnedfundstransfersis:lackof
sufficientfundsinthesourceaccount.Ifwereceiveareturnduetonon-sufficientfunds(NSF)in
thesourceaccount,wewillautomaticallytrythetransactionasecondtime.Afundstransferwill
