Be Prepared!
Electronic Sign-in
In the event of a natural disaster, health emergency or
Active Shooter situation, we
need to be prepared. On
Monday, April 3rd, we will
conduct a Parent Safety Information Session. We have
reached out to local emergency officials to conduct a
workshop on Emergency
Preparedness.
The new app, Brightwheel, has proved to be an
effective way of keeping you informed about your
child’s day. We will begin using another feature of
the app for electronic sign-in attendance. On Monday, March 13th, you will no longer have to physically sign your child in or out. You will receive a
personal pin (established by Brightwheel) to allow
you to check-in & out. A tablet will be set-up in the
lobby to be used for signing in and out. Only
parents, who have an account set-up, will have access to this feature. Persons authorized to pick up
your child, will have to manually sign in/out.

PARENT’S CORNER:

It is important that your
child arrives to school by
9:00 a.m. so that we can
start our day together.

Children should only bring
toys to school when requested by their teacher.

Grandparent’s Week
Calling all grandparents to come and spend some time
in your grandchild’s class, reading a story, singing songs,
or helping with projects. Join us for a special Grandparent’s week from March 13th—March 17th from
9:15 to 10:15 am or 2:30-3:30 pm. Please see sign-up
sheet in the lobby.

March is Disabilities Awareness Month!
This year’s theme is “It Matters to Me”. Please check out the link for more
information. http://disabilityawarenessnj.org/. Staff will incorporate activities
into this month’s lesson plans.

Grow NJ Kids Update
KOD hosted a Director’s Information
Session. The goal of the meeting was
to encourage involvement in Grow NJ
Kids. Information was provided
regarding the enrollment process &
the benefits of participating.
A meeting was also held with our
Technical Assistant to help us develop
an improvement plan based on the
results of the mock rating. Majority
of the items we need to purchase are
for promoting diversity (ethnic food,
clothes, etc.). A list of requested supplies has been submitted. We are still
waiting for Creative Curriculum Gold
to help staff document child observations.
Target date set for rating: Oct. 2017!
