NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST.
OPEN TO ALL LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE U.S. 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
THIS CONTEST IS IN NO WAY SPONSORED, ENDORSED OR ADMINISTERED BY, OR
ASSOCIATED WITH FACEBOOK, INC. (“FACEBOOK”), TWITTER, INC. (“TWITTER”), OR ANY OF
THEIR AFFILIATES. INTERNET ACCESS IS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY. ENTRY OF EMAIL ADDRESS
OR PHONE NUMBER AND FULL NAME ARE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY.
1. PARTICIPATION: The #RCNWords of the Week Contest (“WOWC”) offers Entrants the
chance to win weekly or grand prizes by entering, into a web form, an original
sentence/statement using one or more RCN Words presented for that week.
Contest Duration: 36 days
Timing: Monday, May 16, 2015 9am EST – Monday, June 20, 2016 6pm ET.
Contest: Each week three (3) RCN words will be presented on the campaign’s landing
page: www.rcn.com/rcnwords. Entrants have the opportunity to enter up to five (5)
different sentences a day using one or more of the three (3) RCN words for that week.
There will be five (5) weeks of the contest, each week will have three (3) RCN words
presented. Three days after the close of each week of the contest, RCN will select a total
of four (4) or five (5) Entrants (depending on the prizing that week) submitted sentences
out of the qualified entries pool. Up to two (2) weeks after the close of the contest (June
20th, 2016 6pm EST) RCN will select a total of three (3) grand prize winners out of the
qualified entries pool.
EACH QUALIFIED SUBMISSION MUST:
•
Contain all fields on the web form.
•
Contain at least one (1) of the three RCN Words for that week.
•
Be a complete sentence. No single word nor phrase entries will qualify.
•
Be received within the designated timeframe for the specific week of the contest
for which the RCN Word applies. (See weekly words time table below.)
•
More than five (5) submissions from one Entrant a day may be disqualified and

Entrants can submit up to five (5) different sentences per day (not the same
sentence five (5) times).
By submitting the secure form on the landing page (www.rcn.com/rcnwords), the Entrant
is officially entered into WOWC and is eligible to win a weekly or grand prize (see Prize
Table). A total of twenty-two (22) winners will be selected over the course of the five
weekly prize weeks, at RCN’s sole discretion. Further, a total of three (3) winners will be
selected, at the end of the contest, as grand prize winners, at RCN’s sole discretion.
2. WEEKLY RCN WORDS SCHEDULE:
The WOWC is open for entries for five (5) weeks from May 16th – June 20th with five
corresponding weeks of prizes and additional grand prizes at the end of the contest,
timing is as below:

3. ELIGIBILITY: The WOWC is open to all legal residents of the United States who are 18
YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER as of date referenced below as the start date for the WOWC
("Entrants"). Proof of residency and age may be required. RCN employees and their
immediate families (spouses, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses),
including household members of RCN employees (regardless of whether such household
member is a spouse or family member), are not eligible to enter. By entering the WOWC,
each Entrant agrees to release and hold harmless RCN from any injury, loss, death,
damage, action, claim, demand or other liability that may occur from Entrant's
participation in the WOWC or from the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize awarded,
or attendance at any event. RCN reserves the right to verify eligibility qualifications of any
winner. U.S. law governs the WOWC.
3. PRIZES: There will be twenty-five (25) winners total, including twenty-two (22) Weekly
Prize winners and three (3) GRAND PRIZE winners.

The prizes have no cash redemption value. Any federal and state taxes on the prize are the
sole responsibility of the winners. No substitution or transfer of prizes permitted, except
at the sole discretion of RCN. If any portion of a prize is unavailable, RCN reserves the right
to substitute that portion of a prize with a prize of equal or greater value. RCN will make
an honest and documented attempt to deliver all prizes.
4. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Entrants will be required to sign and return any applicable
documents sent by RCN related to the WOWC, which may include, but are not limited to,
a letter of prize acceptance, release form, waiver of liability, W9 form (if prizing received
is valued at or above $600) and an affidavit of eligibility within three (3) days of
notification. Failure to return documents as specified or if prize notification is returned as
undeliverable, it will result in entry being disqualified, and an alternate winner being
selected from eligible entries previously received. Where permitted by law, each winner
agrees to grant to RCN, its parent, and RCN's licensees, affiliates and assigns, the right to
own, print, publish, broadcast and use, worldwide, in any media now known or hereafter

developed, including, but not limited to, the world wide web, at any time or times, each
winner's name, contest submission(s), portrait, picture, voice, likeness and biographical
information as news or information and for advertising and promotional purposes without
additional consideration; and further without such additional compensation, appear for,
or provide biographical information for use in any presentation or other activity, which
may include filming/audio/video/ electronic or other recordings and/or interviews as may
be determined by RCN. Failure to make such appearances or grant such rights may result
in disqualification with an alternate winner or potential winner selected from eligible
entries previously received and in accordance with these Official Rules; and while not
obligated to do so, RCN may in its sole discretion, bear such reasonable costs and
expenses which RCN, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate for winners or potential
winners to appear for a presentation or other activity. Further, by accepting a prize, each
winner agrees to release and hold harmless RCN, its respective parent, subsidiaries,
licensees, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective directors,
officers, employees, representatives, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries,
loss, or damage of any kind to person, including death, and property arising whole or in
part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize,
participation in any WOWC-related activity, or participation in this contest.
IN NO EVENT WILL ANY RCN, ITS PARENT, SUBSIDIARIES, LICENSEES, AND/OR AFFILIATES
AND RELATED COMPANIES, NOR THEIR AFFILIATES, ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION
AGENCIES

REPERESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS, BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR
LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR
PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR ACCESS TO AND USE OF INTERNET WEBSITE,
INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE CONTEST, OR THE DOWNLOADING FROM
AND/OR PRINTING OF MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM SAID SITE. WITHOUT LIMITING
THE FOREGOING, ALL CONTENT ON THIS SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY

RCN reserves the right, at RCN's sole discretion, to disqualify any individual that RCN finds
tampering with the entry process or the operation of the WOWC or web site; to be in
violation of the terms of service of RCN’s web site; to be acting in violation of the Official
RCNWORDS of the WEEK CONTEST | OFFICIAL RULES

Rules; or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike, unprofessional, or disruptive manner, or with
intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any attempt by any entrant
to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple, different email,
Twitter, or Facebook accounts, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods
will void that entrant's entries and that entrant may be disqualified from the WOWC. Any
use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed, or like entry methods will void all such
entries by such methods.
In the event of a dispute as to entries submitted by multiple users having the same email,
the authorized account holder of the applicable account used to enter the WOWC at the
actual time of the entry will be deemed to be the Entrant and must comply with these
Official Rules. For email, authorized account owner is deemed to be the natural person
who is assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider
or other organization, which is responsible for assigning email addresses, or the domain
associated with the submitted email address. Authorized account holder of a Twitter
account is defined as the natural person assigned to a Twitter account by Twitter.com.
Authorized account holder of a Facebook account is defined as the natural person
assigned to a Facebook account by Facebook.com. A potential winner may be required to
show proof that he/she is authorized account holder.
5. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION: RCN will not sell, rent or otherwise transfer any
information, obtained throughout the course of this WOWC, to any third party, nor will
RCN use this information for marketing purposes, other than as specifically set forth
herein. In the event that you are under the age of eighteen (18) and submit entries to RCN,
RCN will delete, erase or destroy any and all personally identifiable information that is
obtained from the entries following the conclusion of the WOWC.
