On the Way to Big Bear
From Los Angeles, CA
East on I-10...
Disneyland has always been a hot spot for all ages. An interesting diversion just 15 miles from the Magic Kingdom is the Richard Nixon Library and
Birthplace. A film presents the history of America's government and the presidency, as well as this controversial senior statesman's biography. Also on
exhibit are rarely-displayed photographs and memorabilia from Nixon's life. Be one of the many to tour the homes of Hollywood stars, or go on location
to some of the nearby shoots to witness the creation of motion pictures. Take a stroll down Rodeo Drive for incredible shopping. Wander along
Hollywood Boulevard and compare hand sizes with the stars who have imprinted and autographed their way onto this famous sidewalk. Universal
Studios, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knotts Berry Farm and the Los Angeles Zoo all make for great adventures. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to
glimpse a movie star at the Burbank Studios VIP Tour, NBC Studio Tours or at one of the television shows that offer free tickets.
From San Diego, CA
North on I-5, then take I-215...
One of the nation's great city parks, San Diego's Balboa Park includes playgrounds, lawn bowling courts, gardens, museums, theaters, an aerospace
center and the world famous San Diego Zoo. Old Town combines old and new San Diego. Best seen on foot, it offers shopping in nostalgic
emporiums, tours of restored adobes and dining at a colorful Mexican restaurant in Bazar del Mundo. Thirty miles north is Escondido and the San
Diego Wild Animal Park. More than 2,400 animals roam freely in the 2,100-acre preservation area for endangered species.
In Big Bear, CA
From Hwy 215 North to Hwy 10...
You will find sunshine and an incredible array of things to do. Ride the MARTA, serving Big Bear and the surrounding area. Shop for old-fashioned gifts,
crafts, fantastic foods and nostalgic memories in an atmosphere of antiques and blue-grass music at the Bear Mountain Trading Company. A Jeep
tour makes for a great introduction to Big Bear's backcountry, and the Miss Liberty offers 90-minute lake tours. Bird enthusiasts should stop by Wild
Wings Unlimited for a unique adventure and souvenirs. During the summer months try parasailing or just enjoy the view from the Snow Summit Sky
Chair.
