A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CASTLE PINES NORTH, COLORADO
CONFIRMING, RATIFYING AND ORDERING THE NAME CHANGE OF THE CITY
FROM THE CITY OF CASTLE PINES NORTH TO THE CITY OF CASTLE PINES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Castle Pines North ("City") submitted to a
vote of the registered electors of the City at the November 2, 2010 election Question 2C seeking
to change the name of the City from The City of Castle Pines North to The City of Castle Pines;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 31-ll-111 (2), C.R.S., the City has received
confirmation from the Secretary of State's Office as well as from the Department of Local
Affairs that no other municipality in the State of Colorado is currently named The City of Castle
Pines; and
WHEREAS, the registered electors approved the change in name of the City from The
City of Castle Pines North to The City of Castle Pines, as evidenced by the attached, official
Douglas County election results; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to confirm and ratify the election results of
Question 2C and to authorize City staff to effectuate the City's name change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CASTLE PINES NORTH, COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1.
The City Council hereby confirms, ratifies and orders the change in name
of the City from The City of Castle Pines North to The City of Castle Pines, effective as of
November 19, 2010, the date of Douglas County's certification of election results for the
November 2, 2010 election.
Section 2.
The City Council authorizes City staff to perform all steps necessary to
effectuate such name change, including filing a copy of this Resolution in the office of the
Secretary of State and publishing the same in the Douglas County News Press.
Section 3.
If any section, paragraph, clause, or provision of this Resolution shall for
any reason be held to be invalid or unenforceable, the invalidity or unenforceability of such
section, paragraph, clause, or provision shall not affect any of the remaining provisions of this
Resolution, the intent being that the same are severable.

Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect upon its approval by
