SUMMER TERM
The Summer term is extremely busy. Please take a note of all relevant dates below
for you and your child so you don’t miss out!
Staff Changes
We are saying goodbye to …
Miss Catherine Rickman and Miss Jennifer Corbett who are leaving to take up new
teaching positions at schools in Norwich. We would like to thank both Miss Rickman and Miss
Corbett for all their hard work in their time at DCINS and wish them every success as at their
new schools.
We’re also saying goodbye to Mrs Gill Harrowven on the 8th June as Mrs Starman will be
returning from maternity leave to teach Emerald Class on Monday 11th June. Mrs Harrowven
will be returning to her previous school in Norwich and we wish to thank her for her hard work
since January.
New Staffing Structure from September 2016.
From September we shall have a new structure to our teaching team. Mrs Bex Starman and Mrs
Chloe Cole will be moving to Leading Teacher Roles which will mean they will not be full time
class teachers. As Leading Teachers they will be members of the Senior Leadership Team and be
supporting Mrs Gay in the leadership and management of the school. Mrs Starman, as Literacy
Subject Leader and Mrs Cole, as Mathematics subject leader, will be focused on school
improvement throughout the school and will support class teachers, particularly those new to
the school. In addition both teachers will cover some teacher release time.
We are saying hello to …
In a time of teacher shortages being highlighted in the media, we are delighted to be able to tell
you that we have appointed 4 new teachers to our Year 1 and Year 2 team. We were lucky to
have 27 applications and from interviewing 12 we have appointed:
 To Year 2; Miss Holly Westmacott, who is currently teaching in Wells Next the Sea
Primary and Miss Demelza Holloway who has recently qualified as a teacher after
working in a school for five years as a Cover Supervisor.
 To Year 1; Miss Aimee Webster, who is currently teaching in Romford, Essex and
Miss Lauren Peck who has recently qualified as a teacher.
You will receive your child’s school report and a newsletter on Monday 4th July. The
