Watch Your Inbox...Something is Coming! This school year, Richland Two is undergoing re-accreditation. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED! One of the requirements for re-accreditation is to obtain feedback from parents. Feedback will be received through a survey. Please watch your inbox on Tuesday, September 6, for an email from Libby Roof/Richland Two. The email will contain the link to the parent survey. If you do not see an e-mail from Libby Roof/Richland Two at some point Tuesday. PLEASE check your SPAM/JUNK folder just to be sure the email isn’t there. In the meantime, here is a little homework. The chart below contains terms that will appear in the survey. Please familiarize yourself with these terms. It’s like getting a head start on your homework. Please take a moment to label your child’s items such as lunch boxes, sweaters, and jackets. This will make the process of locating and returning items much easier. Please note that all unclaimed items in the school’s “Lost and Found” are eventually donated to charities. Young Artists’ Workshops The following spring semester art classes will be offered at USC: Drawing, Painting & More: Ages 5-7 Drawing, Painting & More : Ages 8-9 Drawing, Painting & Mixed Media: Ages 10-12 Drawing, Printmaking & Ceramics: Ages 13-18 Where: McMaster Building, USC Campus When: Fridays 4:00-5:30 Sept. 23 – Nov. 10: No Classes Held March 13 (Spring Break) Cost: $70.00 per student; Discounts for USC faculty, staff, and students with valid USC I.D. Car Rider Reminders We are becoming more and more efficient with our arrival and dismissal procedures. Here are just a few reminders to continue us on our path to becoming even more efficient. Please make sure to encourage your child to open the car door him/herself and exit the car as quickly as possible in the mornings. This will help expedite the process of getting all students into the building and on their way to class. For safety reasons, your child should always exit the car from the passenger side, and if you use the child locks on your door, please remember to turn off this feature during car pool. However, if your child arrives to school after 8:00am, please park and walk him or her into the building. Students do not need to be signed in prior to 8:10am, but they do need an adult escort . Duty responsibilities for all employees who assist with morning carpool ends as 8:00am. Items of Interest THE EXPLORER DRESS CODE Khaki, navy blue bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers, or skorts) Polo shirts, blouses, turtlenecks and shirts with collars may be worn in the following colors: navy blue, light blue, white, hunter green or burgundy (shirts should be plain, solid colors) Black or brown belt Shoes should be worn with safety in mind. Flip-flops, platform shoes, or shoes with cleats or rollers are not allowed. The items pictured are samples of those that are acceptable for Polo Road’s uniform dress code. These items may be purchased locally or on line via many vendors, including: Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Sears, JC Penney, Burlington Coat Factory, Hamrick’s, GAP (www.gap.com), Old Navy (www.oldnavy.com), The Children’s Place (www.childrensplace.com), Lands End (www.landsend.com), and French Toast (www.frenchtoast.com). As you purchase uniform pieces, be mindful that stores typically only sell uniforms at the beginning of the school year. Therefore, it would be wise to go ahead and purchase winter pieces as well.
