Preschool: Mrs. Angulo and Ms. Arocho-Morales
Our little giants had an exciting week, starting on
Monday enjoying a show by gymnasts from Washington
Adventist University. It was spectacular! We ended the week
with a beautiful Christian music concert by the philharmonic
orchestra from Kingsway College (a Seventh-day Adventist
high school in Canada).
Heroes of the Bible: We learned about Abraham & the
special plan that God had for him, giving him a wonderful
promise to make his descendants a great nation – the
Israelites! We enjoyed singing “Father Abraham!” We also
learned about Moses, the Israelite slave baby saved from the
Nile River by the princess of Egypt. God had a special plan
for this baby, too, as the leader & liberator of God’s people,
the Israelites.
This week, we introduced the letters M (for “mittens,”
“Matheus,” & “Maria”) & N (for “newspaper” & “Narayan”).
We made cute lion faces to reinforce our letter “L” from last
week, & we made mittens for the letter “M.” We also talked
about the number 8 – we decorated the number “8.”
Remember: No school on Monday. See you on Tuesday!
Happy Sabbath and God bless

Pre-Kindergarten: Ms. Norton
This week in Pre-K we have been focusing on the letter S. We have had fun drawing in Shaving cream, matching different
types of socks, and becoming experts on writing the letter S. We have also been learning about the ocean. Thursday we colored
dolphins and sharks and tore paper to crumple up and glue onto our pictures. We had so much fun this week!
We have also been focusing on the last days of Jesus during our Bible time. We love hearing the story of Jesus's love and that
He's coming back for us again some day soon!
We hope each of you has a wonderful Sabbath!

MEMORY VERSE: ALL of our
children have learned Psalm 23!! We’re so
proud of them! Our new memory verse
is: “The Holy Spirit will come to you.
Then you will receive power. You will be
My witnesses.” - Acts 1:8, first part.
BIBLE: A Jewish man named Saul
persecuted the Christians, helped to put
them in jail, & even had some of them
killed. Ask your children what happened
to Saul when he was going to Damascus
to arrest some Christians.
MATH: We are learning to figure
out how 2 numbers can be added
together to create 1 number (the “sum”).
For example: ____ + ____ = 6. Please
practice this with your children. Give
them 6 items (the same item), & have
them figure out how to divide the 6 into 2
groups to make all of the ways that those
items can be divided & then things added
to total 6. (0 + 6 = 6, 1 + 5 = 6, 2 + 4 =
6, etc.) Practice, practice! We’re learning
to add numbers! For example, 3 + 1 = 4.
L A N G UAG E A RT S : We a r e
beginning to put consonants and vowels
together to form words. For example: c –
a – t = have your child sound out each
letter, then put the sounds together.

We have begun our planet unit this
week in preparation for the Academic
Fair on March 24th. We have previewed
words for the unit and have worked on
some key vocabulary like learning about
comets, asteroids, and meteorites.
Students were able to see pictures of
these objects from Google Images. From
there, they worked in groups to create a
definition and list characteristics. We also
did some inquiry learning by counting
out Cheerios and putting 10 of each in
small cups. We counted out 100 cups of
10 Cheerios and practiced counting by
10’s.
From there, students took the
Cheerios and glued them onto a large
circle which was our model of the planet
Jupiter. Later, we read about Jupiter and
learned that 1,000 Earths can fit inside
this planet. This project really helped
students understand the size of this
planet. Please come to the Academic Fair
on the 24th from 11-3pm. See you there.

Second Grade: Mrs. Daniel
This week the students took part in
group activities researching habitats. I
was so proud of the good job they did
and how well they cooperated with each
other. They identified characteristics,
animals, and plants of each habitat and
now they will draw a picture of one
habitat and animals found there.
Learning takes place in many forms. One way that the students are enjoying is
through games. Some of the popular
games are Cause and Effect, Verbs, and
Can Do Science. I can tell they are really
learning from playing them and better yet
it doesn't feel like work!
Please continue to help your child
with their project for the Academic Fair
that will be held on March 24. They are
to bring it in on Wednesday and present
it to the class then.
The students enjoyed the two
assemblies we had this week. The
gymnasts were very exciting to watch.
Have a great Sabbath.

the Boston Symphony Orchestra and heard some amazing
music. It was so fun. We have been learning a lot and growing
closer to God too. This week we learned about telling others
about Jesus and the early Christian church in Bible. In Math

mysteries and friendly letters in Writing and in Science we have

project on Animals. Well, have a wonderful weekend and may
God bless you.

things get digested. In Bible, we are in a new unit, Gentleness.
And finally in Social Studies we got a new book. We also have
an academic fair. It counts as a school day so everyone should

This week we had two groups come and perform for our students. First, on
Monday, the Acro-Airs gymnastics team from Washington Adventist University
wowed everyone with their tumbles, tosses, and then led out in Physical Education
class for the 7th-12th grade students. Then, on Friday, the band from Kingsway
College, an SDA high school in Canada, performed beautiful music for the students.
