1 INTEGRITY What does it mean

VALUE FOR THE WEEK: “INTEGRITY”
ACTIVITY: “INTEGRITY. What is it”
PROVERBS 11:3 “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed
by their duplicity”.
WARMUP
1. Definition of Integrity
a. the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
b. the state of being whole and undivided.
2. There is a sense of peace and serenity that comes with living with INTEGRITY = “GAP FREE LIVING”
3. It does not mean we won’t make mistakes or an error in judgment. It does mean correcting them
when we do “ADMIT IT, FIX IT, DON’T REPEAT IT”
INTEGRITY = (BELIEFS = BEHAVIORS)
=“NO GAPS”
I knew some of my teammates were big partiers. But here’s the kicker: they lived with more integrity
than I did! As a Christian who had a “testimony” to protect, I tried to hide my gaps. What they said and
did, however, were the same things. No gaps. It was the basic “what you see is what you get” lifestyle—straight-up truth. No hypocrisy there. It made me wonder. What would my life look like if who I
was on the inside and who I was on the outside lined up? What If there was no gap between my beliefs and my behavior? What would your life look like?
God doesn’t want gaps in your life. He wants every corner of your life to be so filled with honesty and
truth that there are no gaps between your beliefs and your behavior. Gap-free living requires guts—
spiritual grit and courage. You have to take a stand. No more duplicity. No more pretending. No more
hiding. But the results are worth it. What gaps do you see in your life between who others think you
are and who you really are? Be specific. Why do you think those gaps are there? What in your background and experiences has led to those gaps?
